  1. Jon, If I may ask, what did your transport cost run for moving the Coastal? I'm getting into a 31 Sea Ray and it has to go from Grand Haven to Manistee and I still haven't received a price. Cheaper to run it up the coast? Just curious.. Thanks
  2. IMHO, a bad day fishin is still much better than a good day at work!! LOL I'd give it a shot.. Just because you're not marking anything, doesn't mean you won't hit fish!! I know of a charter captain that fished into December out of Manistee and was getting decent fish deep on a regular basis..
  3. Hmmm...... Offshore structure that we WOULDN'T get tangled in?? Could be completely beneficial... I like the idea.
  4. Went out of Grand Haven on 5/07 to fight the fog. Fished from about 09:00 to noon and ended up 3 for 4. 3 kings and a steelie. The 2 kings we boxed were 7 and 11 lbs and the steelie was a little over 4 lbs. 50 fow 30 down was hot for the kings. All takes on a Warrior Weasel regular. Steelie came on a 4 color behind a prototype of mine. It was cold and damp out there but a decent morning none the less.

    Sweet ride, Nick!!!
  6. Jeremy, First off..WELCOME!! Now.. What size braid are you using? I normally run 50/12 Power Pro. Remember, you do not need to spool your whole reel with the braid. Use a quality mono backer and then add 100 to 200 yds of braid. This will save you a couple of bucks. I have never had any experience with the Ugly Braid. I have only run Power Pro and the original Fireline with good success with both. Good luck and keep the questions coming!
  7. Ok, All... Here is a pic of what the Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish is doing to the oxidation.. Sorry about the quality. The digital camera is dead at the moment so I used my cell.. I am still shocked at how this is treating it. It takes a lot of product, a little elbow grease, but I feel that the end result is sweet. With a coat of wax, it should take 10 years off the top..
  8. No problem. Like I said, we'll see how it effects the glass but I don't forsee a problem. I was just shocked how fast and easy it smoothed out and put a shine on that gelcoat.. As soon as the sun gets up a little higher, I will go out and do a good sized spot and try to get a pic of it.
  9. Hello everyone! I accidentally stumbled across something today that I would like to share with you. Let me start with the fact that my hard top is very oxidized and chalky looking. I was in the final stages of cleaning the boat and was polishing the rocket launcher when I stumbled across something. I was using Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish on the launcher when I accidentally got some on the hard top. I wiped it off (with minimal effort) and was shocked at what I saw. I would have to say that the majority of the oxidation was gone. It looked like I had just hit it with a buffer. So, I used a little more and did another small section of the top. WOW.. I broke out the #7 rubbing compound and did a small spot next to the Mothers and the Mothers beat it hands down. I am very aware that this product is made to polish metal and I have no clue if it will have an adverse effect on the gelcoat, but I plan on doing the whole hard top with it. It is THAT incredible. I will try to get a picture of the difference tomorrow and get it posted for you to see.
  10. Come on Dan... It's fun toting around that big wooden spoon to stir the pot with!!! Just kiddin!!
  11. I agree with all of the above also, Mike. You do a very good job. I hang on GLA also and I think that part of it, and every other forum that is successful, is size itself. The more members there is the more personality clashes you're going to have. I don't think there's much that can be done about it except for being a strong moderator. That's where you come in.. And to you, I say thank you!! Does that make sense??
