littleboat Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Fished solo 6:30am-12pm off Holland and Saugatuck, very HOT out there today. Lake was flat for a change, surface 69.8°, air 68.3°. Not a lot of boats out. Parker passed me on the way out of the channel. 2 for 4 today, caught one on my newest WS 250 line I made last night and the other on rigger cycling. Beautiful day. 1-king, (8:02am), 3.68#, RV flounder pdr mag, Dr bk 55, dwn 45, 2.4 Sog, E trl, 50° btmp, 75fow. 2-coho, ( 11:36am), 4.89#, Wonderbread J-plug, 250WS, N trl, 114fow. No hits on 8C or high diver. Lost one jumping Steelhead (around 10:05am) on a green ladderback j-plug on the WS 250 as he crossed several lines. I was trying to untangle the mess when I lost tension on the line. He then sped off.The big sweeps in the picture on my graph was when my 8" double jointed husky jerk was first seen by the fish. They came, they saw and said "so what" and left. It's not the big splash I was hoping for. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app 7

SeaFoam Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Nice work and a good dinner! I was out solo this morning too. Didn’t exactly light it up. Nothing all morning until 10:30 am. Trolled 85 FOW out to 160 FOW back in to 66 FOW before I got a hit. Threw meat rigs, glow spoons, FF, and plugs at them. Had several looks and no biting as you did littleboat. Kept switching up the presentations but didn’t trigger bites. Finally at 10:20 I went up in the water column with a 7 color to see what the high marks were out of temperature. 1. 10:30 am: Small Lake Trout, 66 FOW, released, 7 color, mixed veggies spoon. 2. 11:00 am: same 7 color and spoon, small sheepshead. 63 FOW. 3. 11:30 am: same 7 color and spoon, 60 FOW, big sheepshead, fought for a bit , then like dragging in a log. At that point I figured out the high marks were not worth pursuing and I called it a day. Gorgeous day but a bit hot. Probably my last trip this year due to other plans. It was a great year of fishing thanks to the insights and intel this group gave me all year. Many thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman 3
2MD Posted September 18 Posted September 18 good job guys! you win - pug got skunked gambling inside 60fow all morning - 0for1 - lost a beast on a dipsey out 75 in 58fow at 630am and that was it! graph was just littered with staging fish that simply would not bite - bummer of it all is I don't think we are gonna get a cold front until at least first week of October 20250918_085435.mp4 20250918_092140.mp4 20250918_080502_1.mp4 3
littleboat Posted September 18 Author Posted September 18 I'm glad you had a beautiful flat lake for your last trip. Fishing has been tough, as you mentioned. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app 1
