Well, turned out to be a pretty tough day. We could only run 6 rods since it was another father and me with our young kids. Their first time on the boat and everything went well so it wasn't a total loss.

As to fishing, ended up 4 for 5. Only kept 2 of the 4 and released the 2 shakers. Started at 80 feet and fought the crowd around 120 for one pass and decided to try deep. Took 3 in a row quickly at about 185 and thought it was game on but it didn't turn out to be so.

Here's what worked:

Moonshine carbon on rigger at 80 took 2

Fuzzy Bear early bird on free slider on above rigger

Mongolian Beef on wired dipsey set at 2.5, 225 out.

Had one on a happy meal braid dipsey at 130 set at 2.5

This is honestly the first fish this year that I've lost that I thought was well hooked up. I've been truly amazed at how well the new upgraded drags have worked and my learning to keep hooks super sharp.
