sjk984
I am getting a new garmin400c fishfinder from a friend and have a few transducer questions. I saw one work really well with a dual frequency ducer and would like to get one for my unit. My question is what is the differance between dual freq and dual beam. I looked it up and only got more confused. Thanks Steve
Priority1
The dual beam is both a narrow and wide angle beams that show fish both under the boat and farther off to the side. The dual frequency units are a single beam angle but uses a 200 and 50 kHz frequency. The 200 is adequate for most applications. The 50 is needed in denser deeper water especially salt water. N II Deep
I bought the same unit last year. I like it alot, I went with the single beam 200 and wish I would have spent the extra money and picked up the dual.
