1 captians pak, how big battery do i need?

I just installed my first electric rigger, a captians pak. I plan on adding a 2nd battery for it and electronics. I currently have an extra marine battery, here are the specs.1000cca , 115 amps hr. 180 reserve.... Is this ok for 1 big john electric and 1 gps and 1 fishfinder?Will this hold up for all day fishing? I will be running a 12lb weight.I would appreciate any suggestions, Im keeping a matching battery for main motor and running lights, I just have no idea how much the power captians pak will need ?

Big Jon captains pack run about 7 amps so the rigger should run around 16 hours continous off that battery. You should be fine.

You should be fine. I run 4 captain paks of my main battery and never have any issue. Of course my main battery is being charged while engine is running.

Will this second battery be charged by the motor?

My captains pak took a 850cca battery down to nothing in one fishing trip... not long either, if it's not a the charging system it won't last long, I have switched the port side rigger to the starboard battery bank where the engine keeps charging all while trolling.

Just make sure you are using a large enough wires too, follow the installation instructions.

my boat is a 69 starcraft holiday with a 69 johnson 85horse . I have a 71 mercury 7.5 for trolling but it to has no charging system either. The battery will be 2ft from rigger so im going to use wireing that came with it from big jon. thanks to all that gave suggestions!!!!
