  1. I would mount it so it goes accross just forward of the back edge of your top,and add some lights to your RL makes it nice to set up in the dark! I have my RL in berts track you just need to make sure it is backed up underneeth and bolted thru. jimmy
  2. Fished holland this morning got skunked :eek:for the first time in 2 years never even had a bump! we went out to 98 fow but it was to ruff,so came back to the pier heads, wild at heart had 3 kings he caught just inside the channel and around the pier heads and we saw a few caught off the pier .The water is still very warm 66 deg but there is a few fish there. hopefully the lake sets up this week and we get calmer weather so i can get out to that 250 fow .:thumb:I have to get a new skunkless streak going! jimbobber
  3. I also will give testamony to the new fish hawk x4 i just upgraded my probe but still use the 840 head and i have not had any problems at all and have not put new batteries in it all summer (about 125 hours of fishing) and have had it dow 125 and still read it just fine!
  4. went out of holland last nite lake was still pretty ruff ,passed a small row boat in the channel with a salmon on a stringer. we fished 189 and back to75 fow the only hits we had were 3 in 180 fow we landed one 8 lb king lost a steelhead and had a rip on dipsey that came off before we got to the rod.We had 68 deg down 100 foot out there and never found any water lower than 50 deg,and that was down 125 in 189 fow.the lake is pretty messed up. It was still nice to get on the water again tho.
  5. Dude that was just awsome man! Way to go for your first year of fishin on the big pond!!!
  6. I have been doing ok in 200 to 225 fow out of holland, had a trip with 5,7,and7fish and hear they are doing the same up in grnd haven. The big kings have disapeared no one can find them.we are catching juvinal kings and steelies out there.Hope this helps . jimmy
  7. you can go to www.lakelandinc.com also they are in minisota.
  8. if it was the steelhead maybe it was a skamania that went up to spawn but did not lay her eggs or somethng, then returned to the lake?Sounds wierd! Probly did the rite move by not eating her tho.
  9. Amen Brother!!!! I am running out to 230 to 270 next time out,we did that last year and just hammered them out there!
  10. great day terry ! We have been getting fish on some small slammers as well, mixed veggies ,and glow fire dog.The fish have been running small for us tho.
  11. 12. Dave, they will work at most speeds but i run my boat at 2.3 to 2.5 most of the time with 2.5 being my prefered speed for dodgers and spoons alike.some days they like it faster and we will run 2.5 to 3.0 I rareley fish at speeds less than 2.0 unless i am trying for lake trout. We like to run them 20 foot behind the ball and 30 ft leaders on lead and copper. These speed are at the BALL this is very important,GPSspeed can vary due to current but is usually 3.0 to 3.4 .Hope this helps you out, we catch most of our fish on our spoons all year , except for the ones we get on J-plugs and dodgers and flies this time of year. jimmy
  13. nice job ken, ive always wanted to fish out of pentwater,my grandparents lived up there and i loved it.Its more of a tourist town now but is still very nice.
  14. I agree with kevin the surface temps may have been warm but the down temps never went deeper than 80 foot ,so we have not fished very much outside of 100 foot all summer until now, and thats just because we fished out in 250 to 270 last year at this time til the end of september and had a blast catching big numbers of fish(but smaller). The 4 yr olds start to get harder to catch in close due to their spawning urges and i dont like to combat fish anyway , not my style i guess.I thnk we had a good june as well it never got stupid slow you just had to pinpoint were the fish were and stick with them. just my 2 cents worth , jimmy
  15. Cangrats to wild at heart and just hookin for the top ten finish's great job!!! Kevin have you looked at the lake tonite it was flat calm!!!!! Cant believe it!!!
  16. Oh YA look at what i caught on Friday evening! He was turned loose unharmed but he was pissed but did not do it again!!!
  17. No the biggest fish we had was 12lbs but lots of little ones out there,I talked to a guy that got 6 north of PortSheldon in 60 fow today 4nice 4yr olds and 2 lakers between m45 and kirks park.
  18. we fished friday eve and then sat. morning in the gold coast tourney. We were 7 for 9 fri eve in 200 to 225 fow fishing down 80 ,glow fire dog, mixed veggies took two fish each and the rest were on dodgers and flies.Sat morn. we were joined by plumb crazy's phil and adam, we went back to the 200 to 225 water and took 4 hits on a glow fire dog free slider ( all came unbuttoned,)we took one fish on king killer and the rest were on dodgers and flies ended up 7 for 13 and finished around 17 th in the tourney out of 71 boats:cool:.Thanks adam and phil for tuffing it out on a less than ideal day of fising! It was tuff fishin in the 3 to 4 foot waves and i am glad to be back on shore!!
  19. good job terry sounds like its a little tuff out there! The fish are scattered,I talked to a guy today that said a freind of his went 1 for 4 in 40 fow yesterday, all nice big kings he just couldnt seem to get them to the net.
