11/4/11, that’s outstanding and congrats to the young lady on the big king!

Fish were scattered. Caught them from 100 - 150 fow. Generally down 60-80’ at the ball.

Gary and I headed straight west from port and settled his Sportcraft in 80fow. Had marks on the screen so… lets fish! Had a 4 rigger 2 diver setup going by 6:15 heading W. Wasn’t long and we were hooked up to an 8# Ho. Came in easy, to easy! Would NOT stay behind the boat, wanted to go N. and wrapped around the corner rigger and diver lines as well as cable. That was an exciting 5 minutes in the dark but we won! Spent the next few minutes fixing the bad lines then the diver went (160 back on 1.5) with a Pearl glow, blue ladder back silver horde. 9# king came to the net angry too. Tangled those trebles all up in the net. Next inside rigger pops ( down 70’ w MS mag glow see pic, back 60’) and the fight is on. Gary untangled the Horde while I exercised my bicep and here we go again! Another fish that wants to go N. After trying to turn the boat several times I finally suggested we just land the SOB at the side of the boat. 22# male king goes in the box and the crowd cheers! Action was fairly steady and we ended 7/11 w 3 kings, 2 Ho and 2 S. H. Almost every hit came on W troll. 2 on diver Horde combo, the rest riggers w a Ho n SH on free sliders. Bite shut down bout 10 as the sky began to clear. No takers on any SD/ fly combo’s. Never ran long lines.

Nice catch! I see your still using the ‘ol Walker riggers, got’um on my boat as well. Still working fine w exception of my down temp.

Gary and I fished 5 - noon. Went straight out to 80 fow then set a troll 210 degrees SW Ran 4 dr / 2 dipsy’s. 6:20 rigger den 42’ slammed moonshine 1/2 grn/ wht glow/5 blk dots. Great opening run just screamed the drag! Came in green n went bonkers. Wrapped around corner rod n cable but we managed to get her in the net. Destroyed my spoon. ( pic shows after I “straightened” it). No scale on board but pushed 25#. Had to cut the line once she was in the net plus the line on the corner rigger was toasted so… As we retied other corner rigger den 42’ pops. MS mag glow white w red design (???) fought about a minute, big fish busting the surface as if it were a Steelie before breaking the line. Both in low 90’s fow. Never got another hit! Great job. Thanks for the info. I was out there too on my buddy Gary’s Sportcraft. I think we were to deep, 120’-150’ish. Still ended up with 4 fish.

Couple other boats at the cleaning house said they heard “they “ are still getting good kings out in 200’ fow. One pair said they launched at PS and motored to GH. Had 5 in the box. Gary and I come up from Kzoo, busy schedule at this time of year. Probably won’t get back there till next week. Tight lines fellas.

Well I think the report said it all. Glow spoons did zip but heck if I was a fish and saw that coming at me, I’d be like time to go, not time to eat. The early current had our 2 center rigger lines dancing cheek to cheek. Not sure for how long but I’m guessing it had something to do with no early bites. Everything cam on something blue.

2md, ya we followed u out of the channel, set down sw of U. Thanks for your reports, it’s helped us find fish. Thought about calling out to you on the radio. Did u end up way S. and in skinny water?

Started straight out before sunrise 70 fow. S.W. Troll to mid 90’s, turned back N.E. First fish came at 8:30 on dipsy 120’ back (1.5) w pro troll paddle blue & white w blue fly. 2) 9:15 N troll , dipsy 130’ back, SD dbl wt crush blue fly. 3) 9:35 dr 55’ down, blue dolphin. All kings, all between 80-90 fow. One miss on dr 62 down free slider never broke loose and I couldn’t get it to release, noonish, in 70 fow. Lost it.

What have you seen in the currents? What direction is your best troll? Fantastic job btw!
