  3. We fished the Friday 5 fish tournament and ended up with 7 fish so we weighed our best 5 fish which put us in 11th place. On Saturday we had a pretty good idea where to find the fish so we headed out to 100 fow and set lines once we hit 120 we had steady action out to 230 before we turned. Our best action was 190-220 we took a 19.8lb king along with 11 coho and missed a few nice fish and a bunch of coho all of the fish seemed to be short biting. Once we had our 12 fish for the tournament we headed to shallower water to try for upgrades and we ended up with 2 lake trout that were about 2lbs a piece bigger than 2 of our coho. Sunday we headed to the same area but set lines in 120 fow and we never made it to 230 before we had a 12.35 king and 12 coho so we pulled lines and headed back to shallow water to try for upgrades again but we just couldn't get them going. Our hottest baits where Michigan Stinger Spoons Jawbreaker and KC-1-2 as free sliders on riggers down 40 to 65ft for the coho as well as Morgan's 100ft and 150ft copper with Stinger Jawbreaker and Jordo spoons. The kings came on big weenie spotted dick meat rigs and a big weenie white rotator with a musselhead naked meat rig took our 19.8lb king! We ran our meat rigs 150-180 ft out on our wire slide divers. We had a great weekend of fishing and took 7th place in the amatuer division and 4th place in the 333 we didn't get many pics as the weather was far from ideal and the fishing was fast and furious for the most part. We will be fishing out of Holland, MI for the holiday weekend so if you are going to be fishing out of there call us on the radio! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

  7. Going to try to make this short and sweet as we have been super busy doing the tournament grind! We pre fished lST. Joe on Friday afternoon for our tournament on Saturday. We took a king, coho, and laker in a couple hours. Our best depth was 75-85 fow and our fish came on 100ft of morgans copper with a steelie stomper and 150ft of morgans copper with a jaw breaker both Michigan Stinger spoons. On Saturday we fished the same area and baits and it was good enough for a six place finish in Schu' s Summer Challenge! Sunday we took the boat up to South Haven, MI to pre fish for this weekends South Haven tournament. Fishing was excellent on Sunday we ran a six rod spread and ended up with 3 kings and 6 coho we also missed a few. We fished 65-180 fow with our best depth being 150+ fow with our baits in the top 60ft of water. Our hot spoon on Sunday was a Michigan Stinger UV blue dolphin on a rigger down 35ft and our Big Weenie meat rigs on wire divers took kings! We are excited to fish this weekend and hope to place well in the tournament wish us luck! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

  9. What a week we have had it's been crazy since last Friday when we sold the old boat. We headed up to Holland Michigan Saturday morning to purchase the new boat after a successful sea trial we headed home with the new boat in tow. We now needed to have it rigged and ready to fish by Sunday morning if we wanted to make the Buffalo Bill Tournament out of Michigan City, IN. We stayed up working on the boat until 1am to get it ready then we got a couple hours of sleep and woke up around 3:30am to head to the launch to fish the tournament. We were basically doing a shakedown during a tournament and it worked well for us as we were able to catch our 10 fish we needed to meet our tournament limit and put us in 7th place. We fished deep off shore for our coho and caught them anywhere from the surface to 80ft down with our hot rod being a Michigan Stinger UV mixed veggie down 75ft on rigger. Our hot baits were Michigan Stinger spoons and assorted body baits. Now as far as the new boat goes it's a 23ft Polar with twin 115 4stroke outboards and is exactly what we have been wanting! We have been working on it non stop since Monday and still not completely finished, but I was finally able to find a few minutes to give you guys a report and update. We plan on fishing the Hoosier Coho Club Classic next weekend in Michigan City, IN which will be our first Tournament Trail stop of the season and we can't wait! 12. We fished the ship canal Friday after work, but the weather cut our trip short. We had lines in the water for about a hour and a half before having to pull them and run from a storm, but we did manage to get a brown and a coho and miss a few before we pulled lines. Saturday we made the decision to head to the gong for lake trout as we had a first time Lake Michigan angler on the boat and wanted to be sure to get him some nice fish. We got a few trout in the morning, but actually got a decent coho bite going out there. The lake trout came on smoke and chrome dodgers and ITO trout candy near the bottom. The coho came in the top 15ft of the water column on flatlines behind Church Tackle walleye boards, leadcore, and braid divers with a mix of spoons and body baits. Our hot spoons continue to do damage with Michigan Stinger Spoons UV mixed veggie being on fire for the coho, but not far behind are the migas touch and pink panties all three of these spoons have been great for our spring coho on divers and riggers in the top 15ft. We fished 35-55 fow near the gong and picked away at the coho after the lake trout shut off. We ended up with 8 coho,1 steelhead, and 4 lake trout we also lost quite a few fish and actually missing our first two bites of the day. We had a great time and it sure was great to get a first timer out on the big lake to experience the great fishing we have and to see his excitement when he was catching fish! We are looking forward to our first big tournament of the year next weekend to kick off our tournament swing of 5 tournaments in a row we can't wait! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

  16. We took a gamble and fished the muddy water this weekend after the big north blow on Thurs-Fri. We knew it would be tough fishing, but the weather was too nice to sit home so we went for it. Saturday we started at Cal Park with no hits so we ran to the ship canal and picked up a nice brown , but we couldn't get the coho to bite. After having enough of combat fishing with no coho to show for it we trolled the inland wall from the 3rd light to the 2nd light and had a double of cohos so we turned and made a couple more passes, but couldn't get anymore to bite. We decided to head to the gong in search of cleaner water which we found, but we couldn't get the fish to cooperate. We ended up with 2 coho and 1 brown. Sunday we trolled the inland wall with no hits so we decided to troll the beach in front of East Chicago and it payed off. We ended up going 5 for 6 all coho fishing 6 rods we were pretty happy considering the conditions. Overall a tough weekend of fishing, but we made the best of it and kept the skunk out of the boat again! Our best baits were Michigan Stinger Spoons and the usual coho body baits. Michigan Stinger UV VEGGIE and MIGAS TOUCH both sizes were our best spoons on the riggers down 10-15 ft and bright colored body baits 25-75 ft behind church walleye boards did most of the damage this weekend! It was another great weekend on the water for us! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk
  17. We started out at Gary light, but fishing was slow we went 1 for 3 on coho so we decided to make a move. We ran to the inland wall and started taking fish off the wall near the shoals. We picked away at them, but couldn't keep them hooked up. We took a nice king for this time of year at 9.9lbs and it was the first king to hit the deck this year! We ended up with 6 coho and 1 king to weigh for the tournament the king was big enough to take home the big fish pot in the tournament! Our best baits were stinger spoons on braid divers back 25-30ft and riggers down 10-15ft. The spoons in the pictures where our top 3 of the day. We fished mostly 25-35 fow all day. We had a great time fishing our first tournament of the season we want to send a special thanks to THESOUTHEND.ORG and their sponsors for putting on the tournament! 20. Well let's start with Friday afternoon we dipped the big boat for the first time this season. It was a perfect day for it with temps in the 80's when we started fishing. We were catching fish and enjoying the extremely warm weather when all of a sudden a major cold front came in and the temperature dramatically and the waves picked up. We made the decision to pull lines as it was getting pretty bad as the winds went from 25mph out of south to 20mph out of the northwest. When we got back to the truck it was 41 degrees and when we launched it was 81 sure was a crazy experience. We ended up 12 for about 15 in a few hours of fishing before we had to pull lines. On Saturday we fished the afternoon and ended up 14 for about 20 in a few hours. Today we fished late morning and had a great first pass but, then things slowed up. We stuck it out and ended up with our 3 man limit going 15 for about 20. The best baits for us this weekend were Michigan Stinger Spoons regular size and salmon candy peanut flies with red 00 dodgers. Speaking of dodgers if anyone is in need of some www.anglersavenueproshop.com has a smoking deal on them at $6 and paired with a salmon candy peanut fly they were a big help putting coho in the box this weekend! We fished mostly 25-35fow and all fish came in the top 15ft of water column. All in all a great weekend on the big pond for the big boats shakedown! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk
