  1. We took the small boat out again on the big lake today and ended up with a 3 man limit. The fish hit some body baits, but small Michigan Stinger scorpion spoons worked the best on divers and rigger. We fished 20-40 fow near Gary all fish came in the top 15ft of the water column. We had a great day of fishing and can't wait to be on the big lake again! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk
  2. We took the small boat out for the first big lake trip of the season on Saturday and ended up 3 for 7 on cohos in about an hour. Sunday it was on fire we got our 3 man limit of coho in 2 hours. The fish hit almost everything we had down but small Michigan Stinger spoons in orange/gold and Jager bomb patterns seem to be the best the divers and rigger. We fished 25-40 fow west of Portage all fish came in top 15ft of the water column. We had a great couple days of fishing and it sure felt good to be back on the big lake again! 7. We had a great holiday weekend in door county Wisconsin. We stayed on the bay side of the peninsula so we did more smallmouth and walleye fishing than salmon fishing. Although we didn't spend much time salmon fishing we did salmon fish for 3 hours Sunday and ended up with 2 kings and missed 1. We didn't set the world on fire but not too bad for a few hours of fishing. We didnt get any pictures of the salmon but here is a picture of the biggest smallmouth of the weekend!
  8. Got my new personal best King on my buddy's boat last night weighing in at 21 lbs!
  9. We fished our final tournament of the season over the weekend and we sure didn't go out the way we wanted. We had great pre fishing on Friday catching 6 fish with 5 nice ones and losing a few others. The weather on Friday turned ugly quick so we decided to pull lines early. As we were pulling lines the rigger goes off and we grabbed the rod and it ends up getting bounced into the lake as we came down on a wave. After losing our new to us Shimano tekota reel that we had just purchased a few days prior we were pretty bummed. Saturday we got a nice hit on the set up but lost it and that was the only bite we had before the tournament got canceled at 9:15am. On Sunday the lake flipped and at the pier heads the water was 54 degrees so we stuck around and fished the pier heads with no luck . We moved out to 100fow where we fished on Friday and still couldn't get anything going. We were in the middle of changing things up when I reeled in the rigger to swap spoons I noticed there was some weight to the line so I figured maybe we had a dragger. Well we certainly did but not what we expected it was our tekota reel that we had lost on Friday and to our surprise it still had the fish on it and it was alive it was truly unbelievable! Although we had a tough weekend of fishing it was great to get our reel back and we all will have a crazy story for the rest of our lives!
  10. We ended up with 2 kings,1 steelhead,4 throw back kings, and a ton of lakers that we released. We set up in 75 fow and trolled all the way to 120 then turned and trolled back south for a about 2 hrs. We have a busy week ahead of us preparing for our last tournament of the season which will be in Sheboygan, WI. No pictures this trip but we had a great day as usual!
  11. We headed out very early Saturday morning in the rough waves and ran north of the reef to 55 fow and trolled to 65 fow without a bite. We got a call of good action further north so we pulled lines and headed to 75 fow and took a fish immediately on the reset then had a double. We got all rods set and stayed in the area on north and south trolls and end up with 2 steel, 1 king, and 1 coho. We also threw back a small king and a laker. We missed more than we caught we just couldn't keep them hooked up we had a few nice steelhead on that did some crazy jumps before coming unbuttoned. Our best baits where orange spoons on Morgan's coppers 150 and a 250 with a green plug.
  12. We fished the BIG RED CLASSIC this weekend and had a great time. Things started off on Friday with a 6th place finish out of 44 boats in the woman's tournament. We weighed our 5 heaviest fish that day for a total of 72lbs we also caught the biggest king to ever hit the deck which weighed 23lbs. After great fishing on Friday we had a game plan for Saturday but mother nature had different plans and there was a 2 hour weather delay. Once we finally started fishing we were able to start filling the cooler we ended up with 2 kings,2 steelhead and a laker for a 5 fish weight of 50lb which put us in 8th place after day 1. On day 2 we started off slow but then had a good flurry of action and then it just died off for us. We ended up with 3 kings and a laker and weighed 52lbs with 4 fish which was good enough for a 7th place finish out of 56 boats in our division. Our best water depths were 95-115 fow straight out of Holland. Our best baits all weekend were meat rigs on wire divers back 120-200 on counter and 200-450 Morgan's coppers with plugs and spoons. We had a great weekend and are looking forward to our final tournament of the season in Sheboygan WI in a few weeks!
  13. We headed out to the lake after work on Friday and had to make a decision to make a 13 mile run or fish just outside the ditch seeing as it was kind of late we decided to try near shore. We ended up with 2 high flying steelhead and a drum. After a slow afternoon of fishing on Friday we got a very early start on Saturday and it sure payed off. We ended up with 10 kings and 3 steelhead and lost 7 fish. It was a great day on the water with calm seas and great fishing. Sunday we got out a little later but still managed to do some damage with 6 rods we ended up with 5 kings and lost 1. It was pretty rough out there with building seas and a strong south wind boat control was tough. We called it quits around 9 and just before we pulled the last rod it went off with the biggest king of the weekend at almost 16 lbs. Our best baits where meat rigs on wire divers out 90ft and 100ft on 2.5 setting. We fished north of the wreck in 55-65 fow with most fished coming near the bottom. We are currently getting ready to head up to Holland Michigan for the BIG RED CLASSIC TOURNAMENT and we will be getting filmed for SALMON SHOWDOWN SEASON 6 TV SHOW. We are excited to be a part of the show again this year and are looking forward to a great tournament!
  14. We headed out north of the wreck and trolled north to 70fow and had good action early on. The bite seemed to slow up once the sun got bright we set lines at 5am and pulled lines at 9am. We ended up with 2 cohos, 2 steelhead, and 1 laker and missed 6 not bad for a few hours on the lake. It was a spoon bite mostly on the riggers and wire divers with our best bait depths at 40-50ft down. We didn't get any pictures for the first time in a while we must have been too busy catching fish!
  15. We headed up to Bailey's Harbor, WI for the holiday weekend after hearing many reports of an awesome bite up there. It definitely was a great bite and once we got it figured out we really started to do well. Our catch numbers got better and better each time we went out and on the final morning when we pulled lines at 6:30am we were 9 for 11. It was just my girlfriend and I this weekend and she landed her biggest king ever weighing just under 19 lbs. We did well considering it was our fish time fishing out of that port and only running 6 rods. We fished mainly 60-90 fow in front of the Cana Lighthouse. Most of our fish came near the bottom with riggers set at 70-90 down. Michigan Stinger spoons standard size did the damage with watermelon and uv veggie being the best for us. We also had good action on our wire divers down 110-150 also with spoons. Our long lines were slow although it did take the biggest king of the weekend on a 225 Morgan's copper with a Big Jon migas touch spoon that spoon has also been good to us all season. We will definitely be back to this area in the future to try our luck at some more monsters!
  16. We fished Friday afternoon we set lines at 530pm and pulled them at 8:15pm we ended up 4 for about 7. On Saturday we headed to the same area but it was tougher fishing for us we ended up 4 for about 10. Some boats started catching good numbers of fish further west but we didn't have enough time to pull lines and head over there as some of us on the boat had to be back to the dock before noon. We fished 55-65 fow from GPS numbers 45-18 to 46-22. Once again our best lure all weekend was a Michigan Stinger UV gator on a 8 color took most of our fish both days! The top 40ft of water was best for us.
