  1. Like u said saw 4 riggers on boats much smaller. Put on and experiment. You may find times when super currents or something make it hard or turning them like you said works. As far as tangles stagger the depths and lure types and make sure boat is going straight when sending one deeper than the others. That should help keep the lines untangled. Watch the turns. If you need to make a sharp turn for any reason it could be helpful to bring one on that side up way away from the other. Bottom line for me is.. 1. Before all the other stuff everyone ran 4 riggers all the time. 2. Untangling 2 riggers that crossed or a couple rigger rods is much easier in my opinion than untangling a diver, copper etc. Mess. 3. Even with the clear water and everyone swearing off riggers I still catch a lot of fish on them and have days when they are hotter than the other rods. Good luck whatever you decide.

  2. OK guys,

I do appreciate the input, and yeah well it is the end of the season, but I know for sure that it'll be the same deal next year.

I'd like to propose to get charter captains, etc., involved so that if we can get a thread going on keeping the GPS way points up to date that would be great. The fish mart used to get them up on line. It's just a matter of saving us all tackle and potential future trouble even as a boater.

Lets try and get the netters to post the # not one more thing for the charter captains though that would be better than not knowing where there at.

  3. I don't think I want to go way crazy and give the forecasters a huge benefit of the doubt but perhaps a small one. Today here in tc was a rare exception but I have noticed a ton of days this year where the wind is blowing good by like 7 am. Reports from the big lake don't have it picking up til later. I think with the hot land and cold water we are getting thermals they can't call. First time I saw this a lot I sure was pissed I was keeping my boat here in tc instead of Frankfort.

  4. I think the settings on the fish finder are off. While some would say temp and or speed would take priority over a fishfinder I could not imagine fishing blind without one very often. Look at the thread on this site titled what's this all about

  5. I had the 400 on a okuma cv 55. I went with mono because with the reel capacity even with 400 ft of copper i would have had a a##load of braid. I run offshore's for my small boards with no problem.

Yep the small boards don't compare to the 44s . I would rather have a ass load of braid than lose copper- you didn't save any money

if that was the case though and it was the only reel I had , well 2 ideas . Attach the copper to braid then let the braid go to mono. Wrap some tape around the spool to cut down the capacity then use all braid. No matter what I think you have your answer - no more mono immediately behind what is hooked to a magnum size board.

  6. I would go with braid. I have looked at bloodruns prespooled reels on there website and wondered why they come with mono backer. Don't know if yours was one of these. Just saying why not braid its thinner and stronger.

  7. Water is too warm in close, Sports Widow Charters in ST JOE is doing well on Steelhead and Lakers in 120 to 150 Temp break at 55' down water temp is 46 degrees, He is catching Steelhead on spoons on 150 copper and 8 color setups lakers on the bottom.

Odd response since the questions were about lake Huron and the particular wind at the time. Will assume you missed the lake h part.
