  1. the coating vs. Lack of is hey imo. I pretty much use a mix but mostly uncoated rounds. I have liked the pancakes until the fin gets bent. Some though bend them on purpose and some come that way, to get away from the boat. You will get a bunch of opinions. Experiment and use what you like. You can always adjust for blowback, other than that the fish dont care. That's all that counts !

  2. well I'll be the first biter, no pun sorta. I only like smoked fish with a rare exception of one on the grill-probably once every couple years. I fish with a lot of newbies that want them and throw a lot back. That said if you are worried about the amount of fish you are eating due to chemicals etc. ?? If so those spring Coho are too young to have accumulated any. I think a mature king would be ok also. A long lived steel or brown I may question. A long lived lake trout would be my last choice, as they grow slower. More time for contamination. With the gobies' the Lakers are growing faster, so I would really only be concerned about a real big one.

  3. yea I have way too much tackle to look through pictures of it and then try to figure out what I dont have any more. You would have to use a erase board and write down every bait changed. Too much work for me. Used to keep a log but quit after I learned that I kept a pretty good memory of what worked for me and when and where and also of trying to duplicate something in the log that worked under certain conditions. Then try and it doesn't work but a complete opposite program does. Happened a couple times. Figured thats fishing and Gave up on log.

  4. I have not saw it personally but have heard it from someone I trust very much. If a king is laying near bottom I can see them chowing on gobies. Big fish eat little fish plain and simple. Nobody told them they are only supposed to eat alewives. Just like nobody told the ones in the ocean only eat herring dont eat those orange shrimp.

  5. someone better show this to the mi DNR with our money and kings exchanged for the frogs ! Dont get pulled by a slightly better year. We are still in deep doo doo with no solid plan or answers from mi DNR. They are falling into puppets following the fed lake trout.
