well i went down to st. joe this morning to prefish for the brown blast with plumkrazy , adam and sea-mac.
we set up south of the peirs just south of the pumphouse in 20 fow on a south troll at around 7:30, and pull line around 2:00.
it was a pritty slow day on the dog going 9 for 11 all coho , and most of them came from an area from the A frams to the cook plant.
some of the set ups that worked today where as follows.
black and silver jounted rebel 125 back on a board
red Z flasher with a green/blue/glow gotchua fly ,20 back on a diver on 3
black and silver x-shad 100 ft back on board
org. speck thin fish 100 back on a board
org speck thunder stick jr. 25 back and 5 down on a rigger
here's a pice of the catch
thanks for comeing along guy's , even if the fish didn't coaperate:rolleyes:
i was down there today also ,and when we left it was VERY ROUGH, 4 to 6 footers at 2pm and there is still a small craft advisery for there in the morning ,makes it kinda tough fishing in 10 to 15 fow
i second HITMANS picks, and most any natural colerd stick bait with a profile like a rapala also the same baits will work for cohos but in brighter colors like org. or reds
I went down to st. joe for a shake down cruise this morning, with plumcrazy and adam. What a day it was! We set the DOG in the water around 10:30
and set up at the pump house. Then we went south in 15 to 20 F.O.W., with 6 high lines on boards, 2 riggers and 1 diver. At around 3:30 we had 15 coho in the box. To end the day we had 15 for 17
What worked was as follows:
Org. and Gold Thin Fish 100 back on a board (HOT)
fire tiger j-11 100 back on a board
red whith black squigly thin fish 125 back on a board
and a gold and org thin j-11 on a board 100 back
4" org spin dr. with a gold green and blue fly on a diver 20 back on 3
and the most inportant part here is a few pics on the catch. Enjoy. WE SURE DID
thanks for comeing along guys, it was a blast
