  1. I was in Oregon over the weekend and had the opportunity to go Sturgeon fishing with Dennis Hull, who's the Flash Rattle & dive guy. Here's a couple of Pics:
  2. I'm going Sturgeon fishing this weekend!!! CAN'T wait!!!!
  3. It looks like 2007 is the year for custom flasher/fly rigs! Siggs Rigs is now offering their own custom combos. Between what Tommy's doing at ATOMMIK with the Spin Dr's (which look awesome!) and these, the fish don't stand a chance! It's a great time to be a Great Lakes Fisherman!! My personal favorites are the Green and the Blue Dolphin. Also, look for some top-secret new super-hot custom combos in the coming weeks!!
  4. This has been on several other message boards today. Very worthwhile, adn definitely makes you stop and think about what's important. Brought a tear to my eye. http://www.tacmovie.com/
  5. Good! I'll be boat-less (I think) and may end up bumming a ride with the guy who owns the marina, but I'll be there!! Look forward to seeing you there Dan.
  6. We run 10# Berkley for browns, 17# Berkley for early Kings, and then switch over to 30# Big Game when the fleas show up.
  7. Here's a few pics from my boat the past couple of years:
  8. We had a few CRAZY good days on Lake Ontario last year. On July 4th, my buddy Gump and I were back at the dock with our two-man limit, had all the fish cleaned, and the boat cleaned, scrubbed, and put down by 8:00am. On Sept. 16th we found a wad of steelhead out a few miles off shore and ended up boating 16 steelhead, a couple of coho's and a few kings. On August 19th, my Dad & I went out for a quick evening trip and came back a couple of hours later with this catch:
  9. You guys are killing me! We're a good 4 weeks away here in NY. It's gonna be a high of 17 here today, but then in the high 30's to low 40's for the next 10 days or so. We still have 10' of snow to melt before we can get to some of the barns the boats are stored in!
  10. OK Skeiner...you have officially pushed me over the edge! I need to go fishing NOW before I lose my mind!! Thanks for posting this again!
  11. I'll have had my fill of browns in April on the old boat. Then it'll be time for Kings! And when I'm done with that out west, I'll happily come home and work the browns again! Kings or browns...either way I can't wait!!!!
  12. John, Put us on your must-post list! We'd love to build the Lake Ontario section with a bunch of quality guys like you!
  13. Nice lookin' rig Rich! Looks like we'll be leaving the new boat down in WIlson for the month of May. I'm looking forward to seeing you there! Bill
  14. Count me among those who posts a report on just about every trip. Granted, we're on Lake Ontario and this board tends to be dominated by the Lake Michigan guys. It's tiring at the end of the day, but I feel it's well worth it.
  15. I don't accept credit cards either, and have no plans to do so. I'm not about to give away part of my hard earned money to some bank for the right to accept payment. I'm a happy ex-bank VP...don't get me started on how greedy the whole industry is...it's pretty disgusting to be truthful. I got the same scam several times over the winter and knew what it was. I always replied that I was more than willing to accept cash!!
  16. That particuar Habanero is a Northern King. They don't sell it, you have to buy their Die Hard and tape it up yourself. I have a paint booth in my garage and paint and tape them up myself if you're interested. Here's a pic of mine:

Tim, you holding out on us? Swimsuit models??? C'mon buddy, hook us up!! Nice looking ride by the way! We all know it's a fish catching machine!!!
  18. Boy, you guys sure do catch a ton of them though! Nothing wrong with a mess of 15-20lb Kings! My biggest was taken the day after the old ESLO derby and weighed 39.08#, and would've won me a 20' Grady White & Nissan Pathfinder had I caught it a day earlier!
  19. Capt. Levi, I wish I could do it full-time, but I just can't. I take almost all of my vacation time on the water (OK, I save a few days for skiing too!), and it's still not enough. My business is growing to the point where I may try to hire someone to run the boat for me mid-week.... Bluedevil, yes, those are typical spring Kings out at the west end of the lake. Most fish last year were 20-23lbs. Days with 25-40 fish like that are not at all uncommon. Doubles, triples...you name it, we got it.
  20. You guys are KILLING me! I just can't wait to get going!!! I fished this boat last summer and fell in love with the room. I like having the second engine for safety's sake, but I'm not looking forward to the gas bill! Sure hope the guy I bought it from stored it with both fuel tanks full....yeah, right!
  21. Here's a PIG my first mate Jay took in the 2005 Fall LOC. I just love this picture! Official derby scale had it at 29.08#.
  22. It's starting to warm up a bit...the snow is slowly starting to retreat...I can't sleep at night just thinking about getting back on the water. Only 65 days till we get to the Niagara bar and more of this: And this: And this: Who else has the itch as bad as I do?????
  23. LOVE those Penn Yan's!! Nice rig!
