  1. Boat has been SOLD. Thank you for your interest.
  2. I'd highly recommend this book for anyone looking to get better at catching Kings. Dan has done a great job with it!
  3. Let's see...I added a 29' Penn Yan, 6 new Daiwa Heartland rods, 4 new Daiwa SG47LCA reels, 2 new Daiwa ADP47LCA reels, about a dozen new Spin Dr's, some spoons, etc. I'll be doing some work on the new ride and will be outfitting it with a Bert's track system and some rod holders to start. From there, who knows...she's pretty well rigged at this point, but there are always things I want to add!
  4. Look forward to it guys! Should be a lot of fun!!
  5. Anybody from this forum gonna be at the Niagara bar this May? Might be fun to get together and meet some of you! Bill
  6. How's Werner doing? We've been emailing a little bit back and forth lately...he's been a big help with autopilots and such. As for boats, I'm getting real, real close to pulling the trigger on another Penn Yan. What a process trying to find the right boat is. I completely lucked into the one I have now...just happened to walk by it in Henderson Harbor one windy day. I might try and get up there next weekend for some fishin'. If I do, I'll be sure to report.
  7. Nice job Rich! Looks like the water flow has stabilized recently after being at 1800cfs all fall. With the warm winter we've had (no skiing for me!!), it looks like I might need to make a run up for some chrome! Bill
  8. Sorry Chris, I mis-spoke. It's the Mag 5 HS that'll be under $400. The Mag 10HS will be at that $500 price point. Bass Pro has the Mag 5HS for $349. Good luck in your search.
  9. Cannon has dropped the Mag15 from their lineup for '07. All you'd need to meet your requirements is the new Mag 10HS. 250fpm, auto-stop, swivel bases, telescoping booms...all for under $400. You can bet that when I finally buy my new boat that it'll have the Mag10HS on it! Cannon tells me that they anticipate having the new linup out on their website within a week or two. Just my $.02.
  10. Welcome aboard Capt. Chris! We look forward to your participation. Bill
  11. I voted Monday, but only because Wed. is my wife's night out and I have two young kids with me then!
  12. Guess I'm in the minority here...I run Daiwa Sealine SG47LCA's and love them. Bill
  13. My first mate Jay and I were just talking about what a shame it was at the end of last season to have the temps go thru the roof on us. We had that incredible mid-September steelhead weekend, and then it just turned over and all we had was 65 degree water from the top to as far down as I could reach. The real unfortunate part was that it stayed that way until I pulled the boat in mid-October. I'll be running 15# Sharks this year, so hopefully I'll be able to get a bit deeper if that happens again. I just couldn't get down as deep as the marks were (180-200ft or so) with my 12# weights.
  14. Happy New Year fellas. May 2007 be your fishiest year ever! Bill
  15. I manufacture my own line of spoons, and believe me, the better I get at catching fish, the more I realize I have to learn!
  16. OK, Santa came through with the Keating book (Thanks Mike!). Anybody else want to weigh in on the days take? How was steelie fishin' today Yankee?
  17. I don't really know. Monday nights might work...isn't that historically one of the busiest days on the board?
  18. I'll give you a shout if I can work it out!
  19. Mike, Is there a certain day & time that most guys go to the chat? I know that over on another board the guys chat on Wed. nites at 8pm.
  20. We're getting ready to go over the river and thru the woods to grandma's house. We'll be back tonight and then it's the big day for the kids. I got a GREAT Christmas present from my boss on Friday. He said he was really happy with my work this year, and as a result he gave me all of next week off paid! So I definitely could be talked into going for some steel. I was planning to run out to Port Clinton on Wed & Thurs w/Jay to look at a bunch of boats. You could join us for a road trip if you wanted. Let me run it by the wife and see what she had in mind for me this week and I'll give you a call. Merry Christmas my friend. Bill
  21. Ummmm..I'd take her too, 'cept my wife might not fully apperciate her! Merry Christmas guys!
  22. Rich, Believe me, I'm in the market for a new boat! But the Santa I know operates on a smaller budget than that! Hope Santa's good to you this year. Happy Holidays, Bill
  23. 4 days till Santa comes. What's on your fishing wish list? I've asked Santa to bring me a copy of Keating's book, but that's about it. Bill We'll have to re-visit this after the big day to see if you were good or bad this year!
