  1. Sweet. I will watch this all winter, definitely looking forward to spring... Awesome video
  2. Coho on the grill, or battered and fried. Steelhead is a close 2nd. Smoked salmon is right up there too. Have a guy in Wellston that does our smoking and it is awesome. Frank is right, the walleye have me spoiled. Something else I have been eating a little of is whitefish, and that is a tasty morsel as well. Maybe I'm just too easy to please:grin:
  3. Better put your life jacket on:grin: It's been snowing all morning, maybe 8", shoveled the drive once, will do it again later when she's all done snowing. Lots of wind down here too, if they are right, looks like a bit of snow each day for the next few.
  4. Nope, just that sturgeon. They raise them in a tank, I think there are 2 of them. They cut the feed from the river in the winter and let you view that. I miss the riverview, however, those sturgeon are neat to look at...
  5. Spent some time today over in Laingsburg at the Peacock Rd. Tree Farm with the family. If you have a little one, it is a fun day outdoors for all. Train ride back to Santa's cabin, Ashley was a little bit scared of the big guy, followed by some cocoa and bonfire. Few reindeer out for the kids to see also. Good place to make some memories...
  6. I concur. I'm sure you could be in the shallows right now, and have heard a few decent reports in shallow for perch. One of these days I will have some spare time to fish...Can't wait.
  7. Well don't know what all this snow is going to do to things, but I would watch my step next time out. Was supposed to go with my neighbor on Sunday, but ended up working instead, he went all day on an inland lake in Ortonville, says there was 5" of good ice. Has been raining and above freezing here all day today, not good for the ice. Neither is all that snow to the north. We need some real cold weather to get things where we want them to be. Fishing report from neighbor, good action all day, lots of dink perch, 10 gills for the pan and 30" pike catch & release, wish I didn't work cause it's gonna be a minute til I can get out.....Good Luck & Be Safe
  8. You are correct sir! I like this feature very much too...Thanks
  9. You have good taste! We docked my BIL's 196 Starcraft fishmaster in Frankfort next to a Rampage 38. It dwarfed the starcraft, and it was disgusting how sweet that boat was.
  10. Nicely done. I was supposed to go yesterday, bet fell ill. Maybe next weekend.
  11. If you can find a quick flip over that's the way I would go. Much more portable. I have a frabill hideout, and I love it, but when making long moves I have to break it down and set back up. I'm not lazy, but sometimes it just seems to be rather tiring when you're out for a long day. I did see on another site a nice clam flip over one man for $100, wish I had the extra $$$$ I would buy it. Don't skimp, buy what you want one time and take care of it and it will last you a long time. MY frabill is 5 years old and in good-excellent condition.... http://www.franksgreatoutdoors.com/ice-fishing/ice-shantiesaccessories/clam/fish-trap-guide.html Only a hundred more, but I would go with something like this... or the frabill....http://www.franksgreatoutdoors.com/catalog/product/view/id/61077/category/4741/
  12. I asked another fishing buddy the same thing this summer and he suggested exactly what you're thinking.
  13. big jon makes a release for rubber bands, I have one and like it a lot, will be buying more this winter.
  14. I have not done it, however I did see it on the public TV station, and the gentleman and his grandson seemed to be enjoying there time together searching for the treasures....
  15. I too have heard about the amount of shad from others too. Hopefully that will mean some nice fatties this winter.
  16. I have noticed this on my boat a few times. Leaves me scratching my head wondering why it seemed that one side caught way more fish than the other?????? Bottom line is, it doesn't matter to me as long as the fish are coming to the boat...
  17. Just thinking out loud here, but if it were mine......I would have a board preferably made of aluminum on the port side and on the starboard side. You could put the riggers close enough together that they would still swivel around and still have room for other rod holders towards the bow of the boat. A couple more rod holders and maybe even a bird tree near the helm. This way the back of the boat would be wide open and your bait tanks would still be accessible.
  18. Here kitty, kitty.....meow.... Nice mount!!!!
  19. cut in half, that is a step in the right direction. Hats off boys....
  20. Congradulations on your 1st buck, I bet your heart was coming out of your chest on that one....nice job!
  21. I too will be happy if that happens by the 1st. We were at palmer rd last december 5th. We only went out to about 5fow, it was cool, you could see right through the ice to the bottom. Did see a few fish on the move, but also saw a lot of dead ones on the bottom too. Looked like sucker, a few perch and a few walleye.
  22. It is rather cold here this morning around 28*. Picked up the dogs water bowl outside, and there was a layer of ice on it. Now last year we were on the ice the earliest I have ever been, December 5th. Any predictions for this year??????
