  1. I have noticed that they need to be setup differently according to your presentation. ie..if you are using leadcore the weight needs to be adjusted accordingly, as the board will track a little different. Also true if you are using BB & harnesses, inline weights, or snap weights. It just takes a little monkeying around for the boards to track through the water the way you want them to.
  2. Welcome! I love Frankfort. Nice fishery up there. Keep us posted on how the fishing is. This is a great site with a lot of good people that are quite helpful. Welcome aboard....
  3. Now I'm LMAO. I had to tell my bud Chad that it's obvious that these were walleye and not salmon. We were laughing all night long. I love to fish no matter what.....
  4. That's great GLF. You must have enjoyed yourself over the weekend:grin: I would save your money on the tattle flags and make it yourself. I did last year and it was super easy. A spring, some ceiling grid wire, and you're all set. Work like a champ.
  5. I will give this a try. I assume you can buy the eyes at any fishing store? I would rather try to repair this then by a new rod. And would definitely like to repair this before I lose a fish to it also....
  6. So after going over all my gear from this weekends fishing, I found a rod with and eye closest to the seat with the inner ring missing. Is there anything out there to repair this with?
  7. Thanks for the good time. Myself and the crew had a blast. Not only was it fun to fish the tournament, but the fishing was on fire. Little bumpy on the way out Saturday morning, but well worth it at the end of the day. Mi Stinger spoons worked awesome. All of the spoons in the lure package caught fish for us. Went back out Sunday morning, much rougher than Saturday. About 1/2 way out we realized we forgot the crawlers. So we put down the arsenal of Stinger spoons. We caught a 2 man limit in a little less than an hour. Thought about turning around but with the high seas we opted to head in. Thanks for putting this venue together. It was nice to meet you other members. Can't wait to do it again next year.....
  8. Nice going P1! Hope to catch up with you on Friday...
  9. Nice looking fish! Curious, looks like you are bleeding them out. Do you notice a significant difference in the taste by doing that? Also, do you have a livewell? I don't, and don't know if hanging them over the side with a stringer would be a good idea... Nice job...
  10. Nice work Frank, hats off to you;) How far back were you running the BB? And what size BB's? And how fast?
  11. Thanks for the help boys:D See how it does this weekend. Between that & the jet diver, one of em' ought to work
  12. I picked up a mini dipsy diver size 3/0. I am looking at it, and there is 2 slight differences I notice. #1 there is no release for it, which I like because it is going to be used for walleyes. #2 The base plate weight is placed at the rear of the dipsy, opposite of where 0's, 1's & magnum's are placed. Now I could easily swing it around to the front, but I'm wondering if this is the way luhrjensen wants the mini to be used. Any insight?????
  13. So I was cruising around today, from job to Gander Mt. On the way back from Gander I saw what looked like a rummage sale, and a set of Big Planer Boards. Whipped the truck around, checked em' out. $15 2 big planers, 1 dozen release, and planer board line. What a steal. Now all I need is some planer reels to mount somewhere on my boat and I should be setup how I want to be. Anyone have a set of rail mount planer reels? Let me know......
  14. Nice work... Looks like I will be following you out one of these mornings;)
  15. Struggled Sunday for walleye in Au Gres. 2 for 3. Nice sized eyes, but not enough of them. Went south of the point to my spot from last year. 1 on a dipsy diver #3, 58 back, with a double jointed rapala. 1 on a key lime northport nailer size 100 spoon off a rigger right off the bottom. Northports All American spoon was the one we lost the good fish on. Good Luck....
  16. Heading out of Au Gres in the morning. Anyone else going to be out there?
  17. Around 55*, thought I even read 60*, I don't know how much I depend on my fishfinder's temp. readout, it's an old unit. Hoping to make it up later this week too and go again. Good Luck...
  18. Got a much later start than anticipated. Started to set lines around 3:00 P.M. Fished south of the point in 16-20fow, big mistake, there were so many damn nets in this area. I 've never fished that shallow up there, and now may not do so in the future. I lost 3 lures to nets, too many nets in there. So we started creeping out to the east, and still no fish. It was getting close to 6:00 and I was ready to just go for a ride. As pulling lines I said, "man, this slide diver feels awfully heavy." Sure enough there was a nice eye on the diver. So we got one. 1st time out with my boat, everything is running good. Does anyone know what type of nets are being used there on the bay?
  19. One of my own was getting to the launch, launching the boat and realizing the keys were at home... Good thing my wife is cool
  20. Just curious how many members from GLF will be out on the bay this weekend.... If you're out where will you be out of??? Good Luck...
  21. Years ago out of Manistee we were on our way out of the harbor almost to the pier heads. My friend was setting lines on his boat. He had put a few rods on top of his hardtop. Forgot about them and started setting lines. There was some chop in the channel when all the sudden we heard the rods slide off the hardtop right into the channel. Wasn't able to save them. There goes $300!
  22. Sounds like a lot of fun. Good Job:grin:
  23. Here is the proposal for more rods & a higher limit of walleye by the dnr. Read it and you can send in your .02 on the issue. http://www.michigan.gov/documents/dnr/Three-lines-FAQ_232625_7.pdf
  24. Watched a video on these guys last year, not cool!!! It is one thing to have the right to fish commercially, but please do so with a little tact. I mean really, this isn't the 1st time that they put nets right where major boat traffic would concentrate their efforts for fishing. This guy is a jackass! Not too mention all that has gone wrong this last spring from the abandoned nets of last year. I hope that with everything that this group does that does not follow the law to a T, they are cited for, and made to pay. Maybe they'll get the message. I certainly hope that death isn't the reason for major changes to the way this area is fished, because that is too much of a price to pay for doing something that you love.
