nice job terry i went there last night and it sucked no big ones at all and all fish right on the bottom. two factors i think no snow on the ice and very sunny. oh and the guy with the 10 inch power auger was there. i dont get it 4 inches of ice and the biggest loudest auger you can buy dont make sence.one good thaw and that ice is junk it looks like a checker board with all the holes now. this guy must have put 30 holes in the ice in a big square 4ft. apart

isnt there a show coming up in grand rapids towards the end of jan. i think its around the 24th

its pretty much the same as a tear drop but it has an egg shaped round head instead of a flat head and the ones we use are about the same size as the spikes we hook on them. ended up with 67 gills and crappies this morning fished with dirty dog and believe it or not plumkrazy dropped his salmon rods and picked up a ice fishin stick. good fishin with you guys

fished the same lake down by bloomingdale i fished last week before the rain and had a little better success this time i got a limit of nice sized eater gills and 1 10inch crappie fished 11am till 2pm with the same setup as before. orange and yellow mamooshga jig tipped with two spikes and i heard a rummor that dirty dog was over on the same lake this evening and did pretty good for only fishing 4:30 till dark.

thks for the info terry i kind of figured i wouldnt be back there this month. and yea mike i got a check in the mail about three weeks later

went to a lake down by bloomingdale this morning started fishing around 9:30and ended at 2:00 with 16 nice gills and two 11"crappies. gills ranged from 7-9" but had a lot of dinks that went back in the hole. fished 15-20 foot of water 3-5 ft off the bottom with a yellow and orange mamooshga jig tipped with 2 spikes. pretty much seek and search fishing had eight holes drilled and had to fish all eight to get the ones i got. catch a couple in one move to the next. all morning it was like that. still it was a good time out on the ice finally:grin:

well i decided to hunt on the neighbors property this morning. woke up a little late and didnt get into the woods and sat down till 7:15 and already working on being daylight. i was really surprised not to see a single track in the fresh snow we got yesturday morning.8:30 rolled around and a single doe poked her head out from behind a hill about 60 yds away and pow!!! she ran about 75 yds. and dropped. so i got a nice 4yr. old doe to go with the 5pt. i bagged last sat. up north

i had a prety good opening weekend saw 8 does and fawns sat. morning and this 5pt. that afternoon. hunted west of big rapids on some state land with my brother and dad. also monday morning mt brother bagged a six point in the same area as i got mine. really surprised being a weekend opener there wasn't many hunters in our area figured it would have been a parking lot

my wife and i used to fish for them off the white lake piers and did pretty good in the spring right after the steelhead run we fished off the north pier right at the end around the rocks with wigglers a small single hook and a half ounce bell sinker off the bottom we used our steelhead rods

now thats a redneck holloween if i've ever seen one nice job frank

i went out friday night from 5-8pm didnt see anything heard a couple shots around 7:45. planning on going in the morning. i actually ended up salmon fishing more this weekend than hunting went out with plumkrazy,adam,and dirty dog this morning and ended up with 8 pretty good fish and tried going friday morning with plumkrazy and our two wifes and got blown off the lake do to 3-4 ft waves thanks phill and adam for the fishing trip it was fun

got home from work last night and no sooner did i walk in the door the phone rang to my surprise it was terry (dirty dog) asking if i wanted to go get some big gills. of corse never turning down a chance to fish with the dog i said sure. we ended up somewhere in northern van buren county on a fairly small like about 5:45pm. we sarted the night trolling along the shore line in around 15ft of water with a plain old hook a couple of split shots and a cricket. picking up a few here and there sticking around the nine inch range. this brought us up to around 7pm and suddenly the lake came alive with fish all over the surface of the water. every where you looked you could see the water bubbleing with blue gills gobbleing up little brown nats on the surface. so quickly changeing things up to the same plain hook a cricket and a small stick bobber with no split shots we quckly ended up the night with 38 nice gills rangeing from 9 inches to some hitting the 11 inch mark. we were fishing in 30 ft of water on the surface. fishing with no weight allowed the cricket to float on the water and pretty much as soon as it hit the water the bobber would start danceing. sorry no picture being dark when we got back and have to get up early for work.thks to terry for the trip tons of fun as always and thks to my wife teresa who was with us also for cleaning all them and haveing a few cooked up for dinner when i got home from work today WHAT A LADY:D
