  1. Thanks, I'll check that out. It really doesn't make sense that this line is bad already.
  2. Went 4 for 7. 3 riggers (65 55 65) 1 dipsy. (100 on 2) White spoon with semi pink looking tape caught 2 fish. (see my last report for pics of said spoon.) 80 fow all fish caught straight out with the troll direction towards the pier. 1 laker 3 kings A triple two trips in a row =) All fish thrown back. Had an awesome time not cleaning fish. Donated a new dipsy & flasher to the bottom of the lake. It appears line on a rod needs to be replaced even though its pretty new.
  3. They've been catching steelhead off of the piers. That's why all the people. I haven't seen an alewive jump but we saw a steelhead completely jump out of the water in front of our boat yesterday in the river. I threw the boat in reverse because I thought someone hooked up. That wasn't the case but that's why there is a ton of people on the piers right now.
  4. This is the guy who got released. Hopefully, i'll catch him again on friday.
  5. A Laker, Steelhead, Coho and some kings AND a triple. What a night.
  6. I'm impressed. I can't imagine landing a fish solo.
  7. We went 4/7 All kings 3 riggers 1 dipsy 2 Riggers @ 40 1 Dipsy @ 75 1 rigger @ 35 We got a triple as soon as the sun touched the lake(evening) and landed them all at 40 FOW. Pure madness. We only had 3 rods in the water at the time & we were glad that's all we had in the water. The other fish was caught at 50 FOW. ~30 inch king (photographed & released.) White Spoon Mountain Dew Spin Doctor & fly Watermelon Spoon (or something very similiar) I'm not sure of the water temp but when I jumped in to go skiing in the afternoon I immediately jumped out. Its definitely colder. The kings wouldn't run today. Well, they ran at the boat. It was difficult to net fish that weren't at all tired. 1 broken swivel(goodbye dipsy/spoon/fish) & 2 leader break offs(goodbye spoons/fish) from a brand new roll of line. Paid the price for going a little too cheap tonight. I'll upload pictures when I get them. Probably in the afternoon.
  8. Thanks for the report. I saw your report yesterday and went out for a walk today. I saw someone was killing it on the pier in South Haven. Saw them catch their limit on steelhead within 45 minutes using shrimp. Seems the pier fishing is as hot as it gets right now.
  9. Anyone know the story? Looked like a fouled prop. Here are the pics... http://imgur.com/a/lcA58#R6iuH
  10. http://www.moonshinelures.com/Michigan.html http://www.franksgreatoutdoors.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=moonshine looks like you're gonna have to find a local reseller as the online sites are not that great.
  11. Happened on the 3rd. Definitely a must read. http://www.glangler.com/_blog/Great_Lakes_Angler/post/MULL's_BLOG_Stupid,_Adrift_and_Thanking_God_for_a_Coleman_Cooler/
  12. Finally finished fixing the boat. Just a small job. Replaced the transom & floor. Took it down to an aluminum shell. 18 foot aluminum smokercraft. Took ~6 weeks. Had family come to town & went after perch/float test. 27 perch yesterday 41 today(no gobies today at all). Some jumbo's. Go a couple miles north and you can find an area without gobies if you're lucky. 37-42 fow was best. Sometimes its hard to keep rods on the bottom. A good number of doubles. If you're going to go perch fishing. Get at minimum 6 dozen minnows. If you get into the gobies or smalls you'll go through them fast. If I had some patience and willingness to spend a few more hours out there limits could be caught. I'm personally not a huge fan of perch fishing. Last night went after salmon for just about 2 hours w/ just riggers & dipsies. Bites on dipsies at 150 and 140 and a rigger at 90. random plain purple spoon and a green/yellow spoon with black dots and a green spoon with a touch of red w/ a black eye. How about that for descriptions? 1 steelhead was caught and I believe it was 26 inches. 95-105 FOW I also now know what it feels like to pull the plug on an aluminum boat on the ramp slope and only to have no water run out of it. I was also shocked when filling up the gas tank after fishing each trip. A boat without water in it requires a lot less gas. I should probably post a separate thread with pictures about the rebuild.
  13. A trip out to stannard rock sounds amazing.
  14. Welcome to the forum & thanks for the update. I really appreciate it.
  15. Well guys. It was fun while it lasted. I guess its time to start listening to that guy who wants a huge perch/walleye fishery.
  16. If you start posting fishing reports for your port people will find them in google and will start coming here for your port & they will start posting. Pass the site name around on the cleaning stations. My port gets a good number of posts because someone took the time to post reports for a couple of months without anyone else posting reports. Eventually people will find them and start coming here. You might also find some members that live in the area that just don't post but will once you start.
  17. 29 inch steelhead when going for perch. I love it.
