  1. Made my first trip of the season and a solo one at that. I got out a little later than I had wanted to so no rods in the water til about 6:30. I ended up 2 for 5. It's a little more challenging manning everything yourself but it was such a nice morning I'm glad I went. Both were caught in the 8:50-9:15 am range in about 95-100 fow on a rigger down 55' and with a blue/green spoon. 4 of 5 hits came in this area on that same spoon. I appreciate everyone's info on this forum, it's really helpful.
  2. Nice job. Thanks for sharing the lure pics & depth info on the catches. This is awesome for someone like me who doesn't get out on the lake too often. Can be very helpful.
  3. Nice job. Thanks for the info. Still looking to make my first trip out of the season.
  4. Well I fished Grand Haven again this weekend, fishing in 50-80 fow near the piers. Marked some fish and ended up 0 for 1 this time. Saw a number of boats trolling in the channel and in shallower waters. My wife was much happier as the waves were calmer compared to last Saturday. It was a nice evening on the lake. I'm still new to "big lake" fishing so I appreciate all who post every week so I can sort of know what to do out there. Hopefully I can get out at least one more time. Thanks again everyone and good luck the rest of the season.
  5. Went out with my wife and 8 mo old daughter to find much wavier conditions then expected. Dropped lines in about 6:00pm at 140ft and trolled out to 240ft heading W/SW turned around and headed into about 180ft before pulling in my line shortly after dark without getting any bites. Set riggers at various depths from 35ft to 60ft down.
  6. Thanks for the info. I enjoy going out of Holland so I may try there. another quick question. For a 4-6 hour perch fishing trip about how many minnows would you typically need?
  7. Hi, fairly new to the forums, they are great. I am wanting to try perch fishing this weekend (this will be my first time). Was wondering if anyone could give me some reports and pointers. I was thinking of going out of one of the ports from Whitehall south down to South Haven. Thanks.
