Had a good day drift fishing spawn, I had the hot hand today landing 3 and losing a few more. Had some great fights with rising temps. My buddy hit 3 and landed 1. This was the best fish of the day. I like this pic of letting this steelie go. He is racing for the deep water. Had some jumpers and some screamers. All came on orange and pink steelhead bags.

Bummer Aaron, as you saw, it was there the day I posted it. I bet they were racking up a lot of memberships when that offer was going. Must have expired??

Stocking is being ended at Fairport and the Grand River plant, they will still stock the net pens in Grand Haven.

Nick, totally understand. Maybe we'll have to have a St Joe fishing outing. Won't have to plunk down for a hall then. We can get together at a local watering hole.

My buddy and I hit the river yesterday. The sunshine was nice, just a few other boats outs. We hit 4 fish and boated 2 of them. I booted my only bite. The fish made one run, jumped and came unhooked. John had the hot hand going 2 for 3. We were drift fishing spawn sacks. The river is as low as I've ever seen it. You have to be real careful driving in places.

Took my young friend Rigel out home from college for the holidays. Put him in my best late season stand. Let him use my gun. He makes a great shot and punches his tag. Been fishing and hunting with Rigel since he was a kid. Great to watch him grow up. His first deer this year so he was thrilled. I was thrilled! Great hunt. Took this pic in the truck headlights.

I have 2 kids in elementary school that I love dearly. This is not about fishing and I don't think it is political. It is about how do we protect our kids from what recently happened in Newtown CT. The debate rages on. I encourage everyone to consider all points of view after this tragic event. If you are a parent and concerned about the security of your kids in school, you should spend a 1/2 hr of your time and watch the complete video or read the transcript of today's NRA new conference. Time well spent if you are laying around doing nothing some time over the holidays. The out of context excerpts or spin from the mainstream media do not accurately reflect what took place today. You owe it to your kids to research and understand the best ways to protect your kids from a Adam Lanza copycat or some other crazy lunatic. If you hate the NRA, are neutral to them, or love them, please read the entire transcript or watch at least Wayne LaPierre's portion of the video from today's news conference before you comment on this thread. Love it, put some snow on the ground for a week or more on top of cold temps and those nocturnal deer have more pressure to feed and get up on their feet during daylight.
