  1. I had my Pancakes do the same thing a couple weeks ago. I stopped using them and went back to my balls
  2. West marine
  3. Glad you made it out. Nice kings,
  4. Went out to the pier head at 9pm. It's starting to lay down. 1-3 rollers
  5. I heading to Holland now, by rights the outting should not be held per the NOAA report. The holland pier looks to be 2-3 foot chop right now. the south bouy is 2 foot. If it is still under 3 foot in the am and if my rider shows up I'm going out. so who ever shows up at the ramp in the morning we can make the call then and can always call it short if the lake starts to build but per NOAA it should be laying down during the morning. 6one6 - 80two - 8six5four is my cell
  6. I was watching the holland web cam all the way up to dusk and the sea was rockin' so far it looks to be a go for Sunday. stay posted
  7. Not looking good at this point. just checked the web cam at the Holland pier. not good. 4.9 ft at the south buoy :( Sat. is called off - keep posted for Sunday - but the morning is not looking much better.:(
  8. Yes - with out the advisory - lets hope this lays down so we can get this one in. I have 2 spoons and a fly from Sliver Streak to hand out to the first 5 or 6 boats along with zip ties for the fish caught on those. top two fish caught on those items will get choice of tee-shirt or hat. Big thanks to Sliver Streak. I'll keep every one posted on weather conditions. I'm thinking staying at the marina tonight so if you need to contact me PM me for my cell. thanks Jon SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING TODAY NORTHEAST WINDS 15 TO 25 KNOTS BECOMING NORTHWEST. RAIN. WAVES 3 TO 5 FEET. TONIGHT NORTHWEST WINDS 15 TO 25 KNOTS BACKING WEST AROUND 15 KNOTS TOWARD DAYBREAK. MOSTLY CLOUDY. A SLIGHT CHANCE OF LIGHT SHOWERS. WAVES 3 TO 5 FEET. 9. I will keep an eye on weather, if we need to do the Blow date of Sunday who will still be in?
  10. Blood run. 32# if you already have lead full & half. I would go with a set of 300'. 20' of mono on the spool braid. 6' mono , copper, then leader 30-40'. I use mono again.
  11. Nothing wrong with being smart and being safe to fish another day.
  12. Don, is the City of Muskegon still looking at doing a land swap to move fishermans landing down behind Harbor Towne Marina? I recall reading about that somewhere but never heard any more news about it. for the next outing I'm planning on staying the night at Great Lakes so this should be a non issues I use the cleaning station over there.
  13. reminder to sign up. I plan to be at the Ramp 5:00am leaving the dock around 5:30am
  14. After fishing Saturday AM in Muskegon, had to bring the fish home to clean due to no cleaning station at the Muskegon Ramp. I put the guts in a five gallon bucket closed the lid with plans to dump them later that night out in the woods. fell asleep and forgot to deal with them the next day, then left for Pentwater. when I got home Monday night I had a smelly toxic 5 gallon bucket of STUFF . I sure would be nice if the Muskegon Ramp next to Great Lakes Marina would put in a fish cleaning station, I always make sure to donate my $10 to use the ramp. Come on City of Muskegon step it up, even a small station would go along way in bringing in more people to the lake shore. I love fishing Muskegon, after all it is my home town where I grew up, but hate having to bring the fish home to clean.
  15. Nice job Kenny - thanks for having me up Sunday night to hang out - was a good time.
  16. Tell Chris it will be ok, It's been a couple years but use to chum all the time Nice job on the fish.
  17. We were hit by poor luck Saturday as well blew a trailer tire 300 feet from our exit, had the boys change it back on the road in 30 mins.
  18. Fished with Ryan, my son Blake & his buddy Nate. had a little late start as Blake just does not move very fast @ 4:30 in the morning. Started in 90 fow was not even fully setup and a rigger fired, no one home. then the dispy started rocking, hand it to Nate was on for about 3 mins.. gone. keep a w-nw troll moving all the way out to 130 - mistake should have stay inside of 100' all the fish came between 100' to 80'. Riggers pulled in 3 fish 45 to 75 feet down with fixed sliders - sliders never went off. 14# king came on 300' 45# with a smurf mag spoon on it. 150' cooper went off 7 or 8 times - BLL Glo Boy George Was Hot fishing was not fast but steady. was bored at one point so lowered the dispy to the bottom to smack some Green fish. it worked hooked up a 8# greaser on a mix veg Spin Doc with blue fly - bad part all the paint is off the dispy and about 10% off the spinny we were over to fish the M.S.C.S.T. - thanks Don, Patty, & Jim had fun
  19. F&f bite was not working for us either in MUSKEGON today. Way to stick it out in tough water.
