  2. not a deer hunter, just a hardcore salmon and steelhead guy.sure am glad everybody hunts,we had the lake to our selves:grin:
  3. fished manistee today and boxed our 4 man limit and threw a few back.riggers at 65,45,32,21 dwn and 1,2,3 and 5 colors.best rigger was once again a stingray pink panties 65 dwn and 60 bk. a mini streak screwball on 1 color and 5 colors and a yeck fire ball with earings on 3 colors were the hot boards.agent orange, bumble bee, nuked veggies and a cracked orange ice with earings also took fish.speed was 2.9 to 3.1 mph.best water was 140 to 170 fow in the 17s to the mid 19s.another great day on the water with waves less than a foot all day.the water is still 50 degs on the surface, looks like we might be fishing into dec. again this year:grin:pic in the gallery
  4. jim just about covered it,the only thing i will throw in is match your spoons size to the baite fish they are eating.big baite, mag lures small baite, mini streaks and and scorpians.the only other advise i have since you said you have not fished in a lot of years is if you see planner boards being pulled by a boat give them room, some lines ma be 2oo,300 even 400 plus feet behinde the boat, and you wont make friends by running over there lines..good luck next season, any questions just ask.lot of good fisherman on this site.

bummer,no hunting or fishing.i guess somebodys got to do it:(
  6. matt, dont have to deal with big tangles much.i run red line so you can see it, really helps to keep lines clear of each other.
  7. it seems everybody want renewable resources and cheep energy, then they whine and cry when you try to bring it to them:(.if it makes energy cheeper in the long run they: can put one in my back yard,i wont cry.

  10. that why i love my 150 honda, shes ready any time of the year.a little stabil in the tank and if it sit for 30 days i run her in the 55 gal drum for 10 to 15 mins and shes good for another month.
  11. i love big spreds,i run as many rods as posible most days.
  12. frank, have talked to a few guys running the big wennie flys clean no flasher just what they call a vibrator head.makes it jump around and give the fly action.tryed it a couple time this year but no hits on it.tryed it with a flasher with the same results.then again flys dont take a lot of fish for me.
  13. welcome tom.i like my spoons clean,or a little blody:grin:i have tryed spoons on flashers but never had any luck.i am more of a spoon fisherman, dont run a lot of flasher/doger flys anyway.
  14. if the weather is good you know where i will be:grin:i am planning a masacure for opening day of riffle season, going to be fish blood everwhere.if he does not want to haul his boat up let me know we can take mine out.
  15. phishy the answer to that question is less than 20,i think we had over 30#s of fillets when the cutting was done the other day.just wish the fish cleanig stations were still open,my garbage man probably hates me:eek:
  16. out of manistee where i fish when you hear the 14s or the 17, they are talking about your north south location.where you are north or south of port. when they are talkin the 28 line or the 32 line they are talking about east west numbers.,or how far off shore you are.the numbers will vary port to port.hope this helps.
  17. i dont know why people cant figure it out.we had two of them set up within 400 yards of us yesterday and the one followed us for atleast 1 1/2 hours.come on its november and there are 6 boats on the water wtf.he finnaly gave it up after watching us pull fish the whole time while they washed lures.tryed him on just about every channel, dont think they even had a raido .didnt see a antena.i wish the dumb people would stay on shore.CAN TOO hope you get to read this.get a clue buddy:(
  18. sure was a nice day. hope i can get back out in the next week or so.sure did get some nice kings for this time of the year.
  19. days like today are why i love november.started the day off with fish in the box right away so we decided to only keep the bleeders and release the rest of the fish so we could fish for a while, good decision as we had well over 50 fish on today landing 42.19 kings,19 steelhead,2 lakers,1 coho and a brown for a lk michigan grand slam:grin:we fished from the mid 14s to the 17s,100 to 250 fow with 140 to 170 fow being the best.all 10 rods took fish today.pink panties 65 to 75 dwn was the best rigger, agent orange 45 dwn, bumble bee 32 dwn and modified juicy fruit.the hot core was a mini silver streak silver screw ball on 1 color, bumble bee on 2 color, steele stomper on 3 colors, fire ball on 3 colors, smokin hot glow mixed veggies on 5 colors and orange tranny on 5 colors.speed was 3.1 to 3.4 sog.there were huge piles of bait every where today, some reaching 70 to 80 feet up from the bottom.to boot it was a beautiful day on the water waves less than 1 foot for the most part and ended up fishing in my jeans and t shirt,in november :eek:talked to j wheeler on the water today and they did pretty good today to fishing a little north of us.pic in the gallery of the 20 we kept
  20. try the mouth of the elk river, there is a launch right there.i have never fished in the boat there but know the brown and steelhead are around.i would lean more towards crank baits and sticks.if you dont mind a little drive frankfort and manistee are great this time of year.we have been getting limits of steelhead the last few weeks shot me a pm for more specifics on manistee or frankfort.we will be fishing there on sun.welcome aboard
  21. we threw back a few nice ones to.was getting ready to pull lines and had a rigger go looked over at the boards and one was ripping back got those two about half way in and notice 2 fish jumping behinde the boards on the other side, ended up getting two of them to the boat.great way to end the day:grin:
