  1. we headed out at 4:45 am ,got set up in 100 fow and things were slow till the sun poped up.just as we were starting to catch a few fish we had a thick fog role in.there was nobody northwest of us so we headed out, ended up in 650 fow.we fished a lot of slicks and scum lines.we picked away most of the day,1,2,3 and 5 colors.riggers 17 to 80 dwn and a dipsy 150 bk.pink panties, fireball, mixed veggies, nuked veggies, steelie stomper, agent orange, orange tranny and bumblebee all took fish.a white and pearl glow spindoctor with a daybreak fly took a few too.we ended up 33 for 41,with only 16 keeper size fish,4 lakers,2 steelhead and 10 kings.all but 2 of the throw backs were kings.we tryed to get away from the little fish but they were every were from 100 to 650 fow.speed was 2.5 to 3.0 there was a ton of cotton on the water, dam cotton wood trees.
  2. i think the lack of reports is due to the low numbers of fish, every body fishes the west side.if we are on huron it for eyes most of the time
  3. i just got one of the chain lights to try, maybe this weekend?

  9. fishing out of manistee was pretty good this weekend.sat we went 27 for 30 with 15 in the box and 12 went back.21 kings,3 steelhead and 3 lakers and today we went 18 for 27 with 12 in the box and 6 went back.7 steelhead and 11 kings.we started off in 110 fow both days untill the sun poped up then changed lures and headed out deep to 500 to 700 fow (the 30 line in the 17s and 18s) where we had most of the action.2,3,5 and 7 colors and riggers 85,69,45 and 35.hot lures were dw super slim steelie stomper and orange tranny, moonshine agent orange.fire ball nuked veggies, mixed veggies, blue bubble, gin n tonic, bad toad and pink panties also took fish.speed was 2.7 to 2.8 s.o.g. we fished a great temp break today,51% to 38% drop in 3/4s of a mile.most of the fish came in the 46 to 47 % water.this is the best start to a season we have had since i started salmon fishing 9 years ago,we broke the 200 fish mark this weekend.hope everybody else is experincing the same and hope it continues:grin:pics are in the gallery
  10. going deep worked out of manistee today 500 to 700 fow 21 kings 3 steelies and 3 lakers.will post a full report tommarow.have to get the boat ready for the morning and go to sleep:grin:
  11. we will be heading out deep after the morning bite out of manistee.we found a nice break with a scum line full of bugs last sat out in 350 fow
  12. over to manistee, the wife wants to catch salmon.did they fish the bank or go deep?
  13. nice catch scott, you fishing walleye this weekend or headed to manistee?
  14. i had a 90 horse 2 stroker on mine,i know what you are saying.we went with a 150 honda 4 stroke on the new boat, best motor i have owned.fuel injection rock, fires as soon as you turn the key:grin: we will talk to ya on the water
  15. matt, thats kind of funny i was telling the wife that starcraft looks like our old one .we had the same boat same year.loved it just wanted something a little bigger.next time you see us give us a call on the raido.i have a few good contacts in manistee to point us to the fish.we run on ch#68:grin:
  16. 10#s was the biggest, did take one rip on a board that pulled 75 ft off the reel and was gone
  17. now they will be where they should be,in the landfill:D
  18. i forgot to mention ,the harbor was full of baite and the seagulls were going nuts.didnt mark any big fish
  19. got on the water this morning with the wife, went to start setting the riggers and no cannon balls.left them sitting on the work bench in the garage, forgot the dipsys too.so,i put out 3,2 5s,7,9 and 10 color rigs.ended up not needing the riggers or dipsys.we boxed or limit and threw back 3 lakers,13 for 14.sting ray nuked veggies was the hot rig on 5 colors, pink panties, agent orange, super slim mixed veggies and steelie stomper took fish also.we fished in the 14s and 15s 120 to 150 fow.we had 12 fish in the boat by 8:00 then it died only 1 more fish when we pulled lines at 11:00
  20. we were wondering were all the nets went ,seemed to be a few missing at manistee compared to last year its to bad someone had to get hurt and damage their boat.
  21. every body needs to remember they came from the little river band and not spend any money at their casino or any other indian owned bussniuses.it is there members letting these nets float away and they should do something about it.STEWARDS OF THE OUTDOORS:(
  22. we do a few night trips a year.the bite will die down for a couple hours, but 12:00 am to 3:00 am is when we do our best.temp does not seem to matter as much ,the fish tend to move up in the water watch your graph.if you are marking a lot of fish with no takers, try charging lures with flashlight instead of flasher.full or close to full moons are the best for us.good lighting you can turn on and off will make netting big kings a lot simpler, head lamps and flashlights will work but make the task a lot harder.most of all be extreamley carfull, help is a lot farther off at night.i would also recomend a good spotlight .our setup at night is 4 riggers 2 dipsys and 2 cores on boards with marker lights.good luck
  23. spoons will catch a lot of fish to ,if you dont like to play in the dirt:lol: we pull them behind mini walkers and jets
