  2. I have one port-side Berts rod tree I'd like to sell. Holds 4 rods. Swapping it out with one with a swivel base to make it easier to get in my slip. Shoot me a PM with an offer if interested. Cash only. Pick up in the Zeeland area, or we can meet somewhere in the Holland/Zeeland surrounding area. Tree is one year old. Also have two Berts weight holders, and a Frabil landing net for sale. Again, PM me with an offer, or questions, if interested.
  3. That's exactly what I did. Works great, and easy to read.
  4. Those pics had me drooling all over my keyboard. Thanks for posting.
  5. That's for the progress reports. It should come in handy when I install mine next year.
  6. Well I'm not an inexperienced angler, but I am new to fishing with wire. Just bought my first set two weeks ago. Will see how it goes with the swivel tip. I was told the swivel tip was made by Fuji from the baitshop where I bought them in Saugatuck, but I can't find that style anywhere on-line. I'm wondering if it's Aftco since they're Shimano Talora roller rods.
  7. I have a Moor Subtroll on my rig that I installed last year. Went and bought an X-4 a few months ago too. Plan on running both to do a comparison.
  8. Name: John S. Age: 42 Residence Location: Zeeland Area(s) Most Often Fished: Port out of Holland, Saugatuck, Grand Haven, Port Sheldon Years of Experience: 10 Boat Size and Info: 2003 Baha Cruiser 277 GLE Boat Name: Docked Wages Started out salmon fishing in 2001 when I bought my first new boat. I had a 17 foot Lund Fisherman with a 135 Hp Mercury Optimax, and a 6 Hp Yamaha kicker. Fished this boat for a few years, and then kids came along. Wife thought boat was too small so I sold it and saved up for another larger one. Fished on a buddys 14' tin can in the interim pariod. Found a boat two years ago that met the wife's requrements, and my needs which is my 28' Baha.
  9. I hear ya. I thought long, and hard about spending that much, but like I said I wanted something that will last so I opted for the Shimano's.
  10. I just bought two 9' Talora roller rods with the Fuji tip set up with the Takota 600LS reels and 1000' of Bloodrun wire. Very pricy, but I want something I know I can count on. Can't wait to try them out. I have my eye on another set same configuration except on 10' rods. Not sure if I want to spend the coin on them just yet. Too many other things needed to get the boat ready for launch.
  11. I keep two Ranger fiberglass handle, wide hoop nets on my rig. I don't like the telescoping kind so I found the one piece handles. Love 'em! I was debating about filling the handles with spray foam so if they did go in the drink at least they would float, and I wouldn't be out $$$.
  12. The Outdoorsman in Jenison has nice fiberglass handle nets. You buy the handle and hoop seperatley because you can get anywhere from 8 to 10' handles. I have two on my boat. Very durable.
  13. The type I have on my trailer have a grease fitting, and when you fill the reservoir up the piston moves out. There's a little "pee hole" that allows excess grease to bleed out so the bearing seal isn't compromised. Don't overfill them though you will blow the seal.
  14. I had a boat just like that a few years ago. It was a 2001 Lund Fisherman with 6 Hp kicker, and a 135 Hp Mercury Optimax. Top speed was 60 MPH. She was a fishin machine for sure. http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/gallery/files/1/7/9/3/7544402.jpg' alt='7544402.jpg'>
  15. Here's a picture of my rig from last year. She looks a little different this year. Added a few more toys. http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/gallery/files/1/7/9/3/dsc03567.jpg' alt='dsc03567.jpg'>
  16. Just keep in mind that bottom paint is toxic in particulate form (i.e. sanding). Safety first, be sure to wear propper PPE like gloves long sleeve shirt, goggles, and especially a respirator.
  17. That's one thing our country is currently in short supply right now. Anybody that serves in our military willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for maintaining freedom deserves citizenship.
  18. Damn! How hard did you hit the sand bar? I ran aground on Lake Mac once when I was a newbe, and didn't know the lake. Luckily I wasn't going very fast, and was able to free myself. That sucks. Hopefully your insurance takes care of you in time. Good luck.
  19. I have one tree that I'm selling. It's a Berts 4 rod tree. I'm switching out my port side tree with a swivel base Berts to make it easier to dock. I'm asking $120.00 for the tree. Paid $170.00 last year.
  20. http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=4532&c=3] Looking to sell a port-side Bert's rod tree (four rod holders). Switching to swivel base tree on my boat so it's easier to get in the slip. Asking $120.00. Tree is one year old. Does not come with track. Paid $170.00 new last year.
  21. You trailer your Baha? I tried that a few times, but it's too hard on my truck. It would be a heck of a lot cheaper than slipping it like I do though.
