I hate when your fishing for river run kings and you come across a hole that has about 100 of em in it, theres not another person around for miles, just you and the fish, and you can't get em to bite for nothin. Don't know if it was just too hot this past weekend or maybe my skeins weren't fresh enough for em, or what. But I could not get them things to bite to save my life. Caught smallmouths and catfish, and even a big ole nasty carp, (actually put up a decent fight) but those stupid salmon would not bite anything I threw at em Hope everyone else is doing better!

I was up to manistee this past weekend. Sat was too windy for the peir. Sunday was better. I got out from about 3:00am til 9:00am but didn't catch anything. Did manage to get a nice steelhead later in the day from the river.

I've been out a few times the last couple weeks. Some are being caught here and there but not as awesome as some of the reports that have been circulating make it sound. I think sometimes people see one guy out on the end of the peir catch one and by the end of the day rumer has it they're getting limits. We're getting ready to head out again here in a bit. My son is taking me fishing for fathers day. Don't even care if we catch anything. Just happy to go fishing with my son

I was out on the pier at st joe sunday. Saw a few boats trollin but didn't see any action. Couple whitefish caught here and there on the pier but no browns. Gonna try again tomorrow. If nothing else at least the weather is nice.

This sure has been a year of extremes so far. I live near the kalamazoo river and its over its banks pretty good right now. Alot of puddling in fields and yards also. A tree farm I drive by on my way to work half the field is under water. It just wont drain. The aquifers must be as full as they can get. We get another major rain event come through and were going to be in real trouble.

They said the ladder was just opened on the 5th but I can tell you for a fact it has been open for quite some time now. I was there 3 weeks ago and could see fish porpoising in it almost all the way to the top. This business about the fish only running when the water temps are above 40 is BS. There were fish in that ladder when the water couldn't have been much warmer than 36 degres. Anyway for anyone who doesn't already have it heres the link. http://www.michigandnr.com/fishcam/

Nice this week but it was very nasty last sunday. If that was a lamb I'd hate to see the lion Will miss Paul Harvey. Always liked his program.

Most of what I've heard is overwhelmingly supportive for its removal. I have to believe its going to be removed. Maybe even as soon as this summer.
