  1. You all know I just started using copper and I only have 300 feet of copper on each reel, but what do I do when I want to running shorter coppers and I still cannot get my boards to stop poppin wheelies and I've moved the weight all the way forward . Should I get 200 copper maybe 100 coppers.
  2. don't know about the fouled hook, but I do you ball bearing stainless swivels, again it might not have not been securely fastened, but it wasn't in the mood for turning around either, Experience is the key, although I did not jump right up and tighten the drag, I did however try to slow his roll....but the reel just kept sqealing louder and he just kept pulling hard away from me, so I decided to let him run, should have put it in neutral, but 30 seconds later I had a double on the wire line dipsey... of which I lost too...No biggie that's why they call it fishing.
  3. Lost a monster to a swivel on Saturday , first topic of discussion is to the pros.... How in the hell do you change the direction of the fish or slow it down in order to survive being spooled ? And what size swivels are you using throughout your spread ??? I know it was a swivel malfunction because the only thing to return was my flasher board and no leader , no swivel on the end of the board either. Maybe I didn't get it closed all the way , one never knows this answer because it cannot be studied after the fact due to lack of evidence . Let me know your thoughts .
  4. Trolled fro ludington to Little Sanlble point 4 for 6, and broke for breakfast ,lunch and dinner on the boat . Had a monster spool me on 300 yards of mono only to snap a swivel we were trolling south the fish was headed North and he kept going....
  5. So quick question why do we have charter boats , don't you pay for salmon ...... Why yes yes you do ....food for thought !!!
  6. I clearly understand about the TRADING, therefore I give you nothing, but the smile on my face....and gas money for your commute to work...
  7. nice mike i couldnt get any to hit saturday night
  8. I'm thinking of Stripping the boat to look like a giant skunk, that way it's not going to be so bad getting skunked out there in WhiteHall..... Not a Bit and barely anything in the fishfinder... Don't know what that fly bridge fishing boat was doing out there though, he was all over the place, behind us then beside us then behind us, then going the oppisite direction, I swear he could not have been trolling...... 0-0 isn't that special... I wasn't even in the mood to fish either....
  9. Yeah I haven't had a chance to run flies off my coppers , just got the new reels , em strings sold my an Okuma magda 45 for 300ft of copper , so I bought convectors cv55l for my coppers last week was the first time out using them got nothing on them but in time...
  10. Yeah but a time share for salmon , come on ..... You can fly it in from Alaska cheaper. Play dough did you get me PM the other day???
  11. I thought you were suppose to run just spoons or flies on copper No flashers needed , ahhh hell I screwed it up again .
  12. I don't like having to go to Facebook to see pics it sucks , Facebook is for drama kings , I'll stick to Atlantic Kings !!!!! Ow sorry!
  13. If I were to trade some like fasteners it would be for the fresh water inside the ziplock bag.... You people aren't very clever..... I can't help it that the fish you chose to throw away is also in the ziplock bag !!!! Nobodies trading anything for salmon , I donate stainless screws to needy families all the time , so others donate to "Boltmans Food Pantry" as well . Sweet Jesus Give these men something else to talk about ..... Amen.
  14. I did not get the GPS coordinates when we caught the net, should have radioed the tug captain though.
  15. Gooo fish sniffer Dude....What a way to show them in the big GH..... Ha they got nothing on us...
  16. I'm not near the boat so I do not know how stiff the rods are but they are Okuma copper rods
  17. It may have been 10 " but I couldn't keep it that small .
  18. Thanks guys , yes they are poppin wheelies and I was setting out 300 coppers , I'll move the weight forward slightly , thought I might be using too small of boards . I only run two boards total, seriously I'm not like you guys , you guys are the best and I appreciate the advice .
  19. Ok I've had a chance to use them ,after buying new connvector55 reels for the copper and enough pro line backer line. Let out the line , let it out past the copper line to the backer , attached board to the backer let them out tightening the line once they were past my riggers and dipseys , but they boards seem to struggle and well the poles constantly move up and down reacting to the small waves seems like I'm doing something wrong ,although I did catch a net line and lost my pro line on end of copper didn't lose any copper though , but are these boards suppose to struggle ??????
  20. Yes we did I just was thankful for the fish we did catch our freezer is very empty and I suffered all winter long with no salmon , anyone with too much fish let me know !!!!!! I'll glad accept anything someone's got to give , only getting 1day a week to fish is hard to keep up fish in the freezer
  21. Got out about 5pm stated north of Muskegon trolled north to whiteHall. Went 4-6 all coming north of whiteHall . Oh forgot to mention caught a net too or it caught me wife spotted a thick rope in the water drifting and I caught it with the copper set up . Threw one back it wasn't legal so I did the right thing , see a few guys at the carving station with illegal fish though .....
  22. Found one in Whitehall , drifting marker rope , lost 300 ft of brand new copper and a new flasher spoon combo too. We had NO idea that the barge was recovering nets or we wouldn't have fished WhiteHall .... Glad it didn't find the props .
