Sorry guys, the rods have 25lb mono on them, becaue I originally was going to use all four for dipsey's, still might have to if I don't findsome electric Big Jns and a very cheap price....You'd think they'd be out there somewhere.

I have 4 rods and reels that are the same,I've used these rods as Diver rods and that's what they are set up for, but can I use two of them as downrigger rods?.....Or what's the Difference.

Has anyone fished Northport or Elk Rapids? We have a 320 sundancer Sea Ray, I know it's not a fishing boat, but we enjoy it and love catching fish, would love some advice for this area , it seems this is the area we seem to stay in, it's kinda of our home. Any advice taken.

You guys are GREAT..., what can I say, so GLF you think I need the Pro's? Keep in mind I'm not the fishermen you guys are,I am certainly a part timer when it comes to this, but Salmon Fever has me bye the short hairs for sure. I don't mind spending the extra money for the better motor, maybe it will alst longer if I do get the pros as well, Ok decsion has been made, I'll order the Pros and see what we can do with them. I want to thanks you all, for your advice you have given me, it has diffently helped me in my choices,I can't wait for the spring, so I can order the riggers, if I can only make it through the winter.... so many days to go... My God I hear we have some Snow coming today... Well we need a large snowpack so the lake levels will go up more, makes it all better for all of us to get the boats in....

I was wondering what size ball I'm going to need, I thought 10lbs would have been enough, but I see your using 15lbs, to get to the deeper deths I assume? I will get the Pro tournments for sure, better to have too much then too little, right? I have to mention, I'm fishing off a 2006 Sea Ray Sundancer, not a fishing boat, but a boat as such.............thanks for the advice.

GLF why the tournments over the captians packs? Why do you prefer them over one?

Hello Gents, I need some advice, you see we just started fishing this summer late, and I nee to purchase a Transducer, I already have a Raymarine C80 onboard and would like to hook up the fishfinder mode. I'm looking into a tHRU Hull Transducer specifically the Airmar B164 tilted ray tranducer. I know it's Thru hull and I'm not afraid to install it either, I'm certainly Mechanically inclined for this job, what I want to know is....Being that I'm just beginning this fishing pahse of my life, do I really need a fish finder, or just fish out where all the boats are? Or just set the down riggers at my desired depths and hope for the best? This is why I need You guys Help....I trust what the pros say and this is the site I perfer to listen to and take advice.... I plan on buying a set of Big Jon Captains Pack gold down riggers early this spring,I've ebbn researching these also and they give me the most holders per rod HOLDER HOLES THAT ARE ALREADY IN THE BOAT, I don't want to add more holes either.

Went out on Grand Traverse Bay for 2 hours, of Fishing... At 4pm cught nothing at all,second time out and nothing, what am I doing wrong? Used Dipsey's and flasher boards,used a spoon wth one and Fly with another, nothing... Please help..

Gentlemen , try this. At Sams Club or maybe your local store has it,marinade the Salmon for about two hours. Grill meat side down forst for 5 to seven minutes then side flip over to skin side for another 7 minutes. You will love this and use the Marinade for Dipping sauce....Served with fresh cut Green beans soked in Butter and you arte good to go.

I have a Chart Plotter and a Depth sounder, c80 Raymarine that I'm getting a fish finder next year for the c80.....All i can do is estimate how deep the divers are going bye line let out and settings on the divers....Also to tell the truth, I had way to long of a leader behind the flasher, 6 feet is too long, now I know I didin't have it set up right.

Hello All, I'm a brand new angler, and it's unfair to the best anglers to even call me an angler, I fish for the salmon and Trount when i can off my 320 Sea Ray,.... See I told you I was a part timer. I'll be fishing in Grand Traverse Bay area, and I can use all the advise you pros can give me, Fished yesterday for the first time, with my new equipment from Fish On, in Spring Lake, from Captain Willis, caught Nothing and it's exactly what I thought I'd catch, so I wasn't upset.... I enjoyed every minute of it. I'm using Divers and Spoons, no down riggers at all, Can you all give me some advise.... Oh I'll be getting the fishfinder this winter, right now I'm guessing that they are down there............
