  1. Ok now that I've got a set of 300s and a set of 150s , I put the 300s on the outside , but I set out the 150s and the TX-22s on the 150s want to go right under the line in the air of the 300s !!!!! It's nuts I tell you and those TX-22s want to jump waves like slalom skier . I am going to have to modify my TX-44s to keep their bows in the water though they are poppin wheelies. Advice anyone.
  2. I too am not sure of the hassle .......,the smell for darn sure don't want the smell but if it brings in fish then so be it!!!
  3. I am anxiously awaiting that fish Sir you got my number right??? We went out Friday night and got 1 king while the boat behind us filled their cooler , I'm telling you it's either the luck of the draw or the fact that we left early didn't wait until dark . Still can't stop my 300 coppers from poppin wheelies though.
  4. Sorry for the late report, but I gots things to do when I get home from a weekend of fishing....hahaha Went out Saturday night set lines at 7pm North of Whitehall, action didn't start until sunset, I was able to set my New coppers 300 and 150's.. Although my new TX-44's are still poppin wheelies (I think it's the boat, not sure). First hit came on Evil Elfwive, small Laker on 150 copper, then another small laker on 150 copper, had a double going lost one of the lakers though.. 12# steelie on Super glow blue dolphin down 55 Feet in 142 FOW off the rigger, Had a steelie on a wire line dipsey...took me about 5 launches out of the water to realize He hadn't even tripped the dipsey yet, 6 launch out he was Gone... THen last of the evening 10:30pm ready to pull lines, the 22# King Hit a wire line dispey, I wasn't going to lose this monster, so I let HIM fight and pull and tire himself out, took 30 minutes but got it into the cooler.... All in ALL went 5 for 9, lost a few pieces of equipment.. Damn Steelie !!! and I'm going to make all new leaders, had a Big King take some equipment off a Rigger line for me... Good News is.... I was able to set all 8 lines for the first time...isn't that Special..???
  5. Nice job Jeff you'd better have left some Big Kings for us to catch ..... WhiteHall is Boltman territory hey did yeah catch that king that took orange crush away from me , he prolly still has it in his cheek , he's pouchin it hahaha
  6. Awesome dude I hate our fish finder , now I can see them there fish laughing at us and pointing to the back of the boat . Plus when the admiral driving the boat sees fish on the finder she turns into a foul mouth deadliest catch captain !!!!
  7. Damn are they out of bait ???? Where's the elwives at??
  8. Thanks dudes I was talking about the leader just didn't know if it was called that , I have braid for my backer just broke off the leader a few weeks ago on a net thanks
  9. Shot I couldn't even get up to Frankfort 6/30 we duct into Ludington on our way to Frankfort and that's where we stayed until 7/3 . Waves were bad out of the south one day then turned from the north the next which scraped my whole vacation plans back in Whitehall today might go fishing in the AM
  10. Is it ok to use 20lb RED trilene after copper I guess you could call it the leader maybe not.should I use regular mono???
  11. I think two weeks ago we hooked walter north of Whitehall spun 650 feet of mono and kept going
  12. Yeah what's ur boat look like , what home port are you out of.
  13. I'm heading North this weekend with the wife for our 10 day vacation I'll chat with you later though .
  14. Jim you are correct I can't get my boards very far outside because they are popping wheelies. I'm pulling 300 ft of copper with the tx22 and I think it's too small . When I see other boats pulling boards they are way outside ...... Mine aren't but 30 feet out from the stern to port or starboard . The nose of the board isn't eve in the water at all and the weight is full to the nose of the board . I'm getting 44s this weekend and saving these for a 150 copper setup. What do you think Jim ???
  15. We're running up the Lake Michigan coastline for our Vacation stopping first in Frankfort, I know there is some great anglers up there , let me know how the fishing is if possible . I have No Idea where the good spots are up there , looking for Mr. King Salmon!!!!

  20. Got out around 6:30pm, set the parking brake around 6:45pm. Trolled for 15 minutes up and down heading north in isle 14 .... Finally got a hit in 50 FOI went 10 for 10 put all 2x6x8s in the cart then headed south for the big ones . Threw out Gold American Express , seemed to be the color they wanted and the lines started ripping with the first being a 4x4x8, looks like we were on a pod cusse 9 more were in the cart before we pulled lines and headed back out to the truck . Got them all home safe cleaned them and screwed them together . Raised bed for strawberries , I'm having withdrawals as you all can tell.
  21. Thank Gents I have two set ups both being 300s I think I need a pair of 200s two and run them on each side as well.
  22. Ok I expected much more advice then what I got , I'm thinking this level of advice is totally unacceptable !!!!!! The bar is very high on this subject so let's hear what you have to say!!!
