  1. Mostly it's 2 riggers, 2 divers, 2 long lines. When going to 9 it varies depending on the bite. Mostly we will set 4 riggers 2 divers and 3 long lines early, then switch to 3 riggers and 4 long lines. Been trying to convince my guys that sometimes 4 divers would be key but they can't see how to deploy with out tangles.
  2. I hope you do well, I was just in Huron this fall for a weekend and it was a blast. We didn't kill the Walley for limits speek but we managed 25 for three of us for 2 1/2 days. My boat is 23ft and I don't have a kicker, just ran bags. Were definitly planning the same trip next fall. Have a Great summer!
  3. Ohh just build it and try it out. Everyone's presentation is different. To many variables to list. You just have to find what works for you, and what time of year to use it??????????????????
  4. Heading out Sunday the 25th for a mid day run, anyone else gonna be out? Give a shout out on 68 for Blue Collar.
  5. Went out with my friend John and his brother Jim on the their boat (Sweet Smoked) out of Grand Haven in the morning, went 3 for 4 with two on dipsys about 7 minutes apart. Two nice fish in 74 fow. pulled lines and ran out to 170 north and took a small steeli right away then nothing until we were pulling lines at about 12 and lost another steeli. Wen back out in the evening on my boat in Muskegon and started in 180 straight out trolled sw to 230 picked up a couple then started heading in shallower. Picked up a couple more in 150 by the south nets. stayed in that area the rest of the night picking away at em. lost two decent fish at the back of the boat at dark. Ended the night 8 for 11 mostly rigger bites anywhere from 50 to 120 down.
  6. Went out last night with my neigbor and his 9 year old, with my 9 year old and my friend John, saw a couple of boats in the channel, The Saint being one of them, marked some fish but not allot. Motored out to 180 fow straight out and headed SW. Trolled the 9s to 11s most of the night between 180 and 240 fow. Ended the night 5 for 9 heres what worked. Rigger at 60 blue green dolphin SS Steelhead Rigger at 80 blue flounder came off one color on a board craigs steelhead SS coho one color same one King Same rigger at 60 fish spit the hook with acrobats Rigger at 80 wonderbread stingray King Rigger at 80 blue flounder jumped out of the net and broke the swivel Wire diver back 220 11 paddle with mirage fly king Wire diver back 200 aci hi double glow fish came off. It was nice to finally get some action again, lake was a bit bumpy but the kids held up nice.
  7. They could have been coho bites, the one we did land was a coho on a meat rig.
  8. Fished this past weekend with friends on 3 different trips Friday night in the 5-6 footers went 3 for 4 with two being shakers and one 16.5 lbr. Sunday morning 3 for 5 Coho, King and Steelhead. Sunday night 2 for 5, I could not find any rhyme or reason to what the fish wanted. I changed so many baits this weekend my hands hurt. My dipsy program had a bad weekend it was 1 for 5. by the time you get the rod out of the holder the fish was gone, and it had nothing to do with the hooks, happened on both treble and single hooks. Just to note we marked a ton of fish last night in 180 to 190 fow about 80 down, but could not get any to go early. Still just nice being on the water.
  9. Hey Jim, I will be out Sat afternoon evening trip, we plan on wasting some gas and running deep for some steelies early then trolling in. I've talked to Joe before, but I don't think we have me. I will give a hollar out at about 4 when we head out.
  10. Thanks for the trip Mark. It was great, we will fiqure these fish out someday. Now all I have to do is beat 2 fish in Muskegon, hehe. Headin out Sat night to do some hunting on the water.
  11. Nice work! Still can't believe the fish are this close
  12. I'll second that of Money Pit, I wish we could have had a chance of redemption, Congrats Mark on the finish, I still can't believe we went from 8:30 to 1 without a single hit. That tournament is one of the better ones I've fished this year as far as organization and amenities, ie food, beer, etc.
  13. Well fished the Benefit 4 Kids tourny Sat, weather was iffy at best in the morning. Their were some boats that did not go out. We heard fishing hasn't been that good around Muskegon so we decided to trailer up to Pentwater. Had some boat isssues in the morning, we kept losing battery power and the engine would die. Found out moisture must have been in the battery switch so I jumped the switch and we were good to go for the rest of the day. There was some lightning and it seems allot of static electricity in the air. My wire and copper lines were sparking in the holders and were getting hot. that was a bit scary. Made it to our fishing grounds and imeadeatly started catching fish, we never had 9 rods in the water all day. Lost 3 lures to fish, one actually took my hole dipsy set up, I think maybe the sparking might have damaged the wire. we stopped fishing around 10:30 and were 10 for 15 with a what I thought was a decent box. We ended up winning a great event. I would like to thank everyone for setting up the benefit event, this was our second year doing it and we will be back next year. Also thanks to all the sponsors and donations for the great cause, allways a good time helping others.
  14. Lake was a bit bumpy but not unfishable. We went 9 for 10, 2 lakers, 6 kings and a steeliedan, first fish was biggest on wire diver 200 back on 2, 10 inch SD with seewead fly. steady for most of the night nothing hot and heavy and nothing of one thing that was hot. Saw lots of fireworks from the big pond and had the lake to ourselves, nobody was out.
  15. Oh just to add to, A friend of mine was in Grand Haven at the same time same water and went 6 for 7 in thee hours.
  16. Fished from 3 to 8pm yesterday, just two of us on the boat. Ran two riggers, two dipsys and two long lines. First release with nothing there on 11 paddle and mirage fly on rigger 80 down. Reseting that and the dipsy starts hammerin, mag dipsy set on 2 out 250 11 inch paddle with a green and gold fly, this fish peeled line and ran into the 150 copper and came off. Now I pulled the dipsy in and untangled it from the copper and thru the copper back in, moved that pole out and was about to grab the copper to untangle that when that started peeling line. It had a nbk on it. It kept peeling line and then snapped the power pro. lost a board and the copper set up, my number is on the board if anyone comes across it. Yellow off shore Blue Collar. We worked back into about 95 fow straigh out the channel at about 6 oclock. then things got fun, took a small king on a slider about 70 down rigger at 90 on hawg wild. Dipsy starts hammerin same as before but the other side. that was a nice 12 lber. get reset. Downrigger goes off 90 down on monkey piss, Green and gold spoon. as my buddy is fighting that the other dipsy goes off again, I land a 5-6 lb laker on that, then net his 14 lb king. Get reset and the other dipsey hits again, it ended getting into the other dipsy somehow and twisted em up. We tag teamed that in, about another 5-6 lb laker. Getting ready to call it a night and the full core takes off. Smaller king on craigs steelhead SS. Ended the night 6 for 9 one lost board and copper set up, but allot of fun. Marked fish like crazy in the 90 to 110 range.
  17. Went 6 for 6 last night Hawg wild on 7 color took 2 Dream weaver ally cat on full core took 2 Blue cow on rigger down 40 Dipsy back 120 on 2. Blue bubble set up
