We just went on a west troll till we started getting fish. Once we ran out of fish we turned and went right through the same area picking away at them. so we just kept making a big circle through the area. I usually don't go out that deep this time of year either but the fish were out there.

Guys, are there any nets or trouble areas to avoid out of Holland?
nothing to worry about just stay in the channel going out if you get out of the channel it gets shallow real quick.

I run three when we fish the islands on erie. I am not using riggers and tring to keep the lines close to the boat as there isn't enough room to run the big boards. If you are not running side riggers I run them on 0 11/2 and 3. all on braid. I am using standard sized walkers/slide divers. I use convector 30s and have them on the daiwa wilderness rods 8 8 1/2 and 10ft. I also use the wilderness rods as my leadcore rods for salmon. I don't think I would run a mag dipsy on them. For that I have taloras.

I'm going to be fishing but have a couple guys coming in from out of town that want to spend as much time on the water as possible as they only come over once a year. I wanted to do the event as it sounds like fun. Give me a call on the radio I will let you know how I am doing.

My wife had one and with a stiff tailwind it would get 15. We watched the mileage and that was one deciding factor to not buy out the lease. In 4 wd during witer storms it would drop to 12-13 mpg. My GMC 1500 Z71 with the mid sized 8 gets better mileage than that thing did. It would two our pop up which is a bigger heavier pop up just fine.

put these tips on and you'll have no problem. I have them on four diver rods and love em. They swivel and have a little guide ring to keep your wire centered on the roller.I think Aaron in Saugatuck had them for 30 a piece.

Man you guys on the bay are making me rethink erie for next season. I may need marina names and campgrounds names for next June. Nice job.

Copeyan Park in Ludington is great, can launch up to 50' yachts, fish cleaning/grinder/fish board/bathrooms. It does get busy, but not as busy as Loomis St. by the lighthouse. 15 minutes to pierheads/Lk. Mich. too. Tight lines.
This is the launch we use when we go up. May be a fifteen minute ride to the lake and you may have a couple boats in front of you but it beats an hour or better wait at loomis that they get at times.

I leave all of my flies tied to the attractor they go with. I make flasher files to store the combos. I use Big Weenie flies so the spares stay in the bags and get stored in a Plano box.
I do the same thing.

Check the Monroe area. I saw literally over a hundred different boats for sale at the marinas and on the sides of the road while fishing over there this past may and june. also check the port Clinton area lots of boats for sale in that area also.
