  1. Ahhhhh - Hawaiian tropics add - one can only dream! Dave - I think you know Marty's twist on your new boat name, but we will wait for the water to announce it to the group:thumb: I was waiting till my boat actually came out of storage to get in on the sign-up - that spring break thing put me behind a bit this year. Hoping to grab it this weekend to be ready for the first tourney.
  2. I honesly could not believe how many times we would run the same direction, or end up trolling into eachother last year. It seemed like every time we were both out we would see eachother - might just be your sweet boat is easy to spot. Need to have another race this year on the way in:thumb:
  3. Dave, Don't you usually start fishing at 4:00 am? It is really going to hurt yuur numbers if you wait at the launch till 5:30... We never had any brains, we just follow Ben around and stay as far away from you as possible:grin:
  4. Have to do some digging to be sure, but I think it is a "Hello Darlin"
  5. You know Dave - I just caught your little funny in the sign-up list. What was your boat name again Killin it or Full Of It:grin:
  6. Here are a few fun ones, Kids & Kings, Big Red, 3+1 and fun fishing!
  7. Dave - We were the Newbies in the league, just getting to fish against you was an honor:lol: - besides, we misread the rules and were only running two rods all year:D - hopefully with 9 rods we will be able to kick it up a notch!
  8. This was our first year doing this League and as everyone else said, we had a great time. Really like the laid back format, met a couple new guys and got to know a few a bit better. Thanks to the sponsers, Jon and any of the other guys that helped out - we will be back next year:thumb:
  9. I had two plugs on bottom last night as well - one I managed to get back going in neutral for about 5 seconds. The other I knew was not cooming back and tightend down the drag till it popped - all gone. Never thought about turning around:confused:
  10. I was lucky enough to head out for the shakedown & it is a sweet ride and can verify it is a fish catching machine!
  11. There was a FBD sighting at Captain Sundae in Zeeland about an hour ago so he is not on the water yet...
  12. It was definately over 20 when it came in the boat:thumb: Great fish
  13. Motion Show is in - looking forward to it:thumb:
  14. I would be careful using Softscrub all the time. I was using it and it does get the floor nice and clean, but after a while the floor seemed to get dirty faster. I did a fair amount of on-line research and read various places that the abrasives in the Soft Scrub can etch the gell coat allowing dirt to collect in the micro scratches faster. I now use Star Bright Deck cleaner with a stiff deck brush - wet the deck down, pour it on, scrub it in, let it sit for 3-5 minutes, one more scrub and rinse off. The key is to let is sit after scrubbed the initial time. I do use Softscrub once and a while for bad stains - leaves in the fall, helicopters in the spring, etc... and used the kind with bleach in it. I have read about the Purple Power and heard a lot of good reviews, but have not tired it. I use the Woodys Wax as well and like it. I cannot say it works quite as well as some of the reviews I have read by others, but it definately helps. Note - When you by a deck brush, do not get one that screws in like the old brooms - it will constantly be turning on you. Make sure the brush is secured to the handle.
  15. Another vote for the Costa's with the 580 glass lenses - this will be. Summer #3 & I still love them.
  16. We did very well on the UV Moonshines last year and now have a number of them - cannot remember which was the hottest, but Hot Lips, Mongolion Beef, Blue Flounder Pounder and Crabface were all in the mix. Green Flounder Pounder standard was a great lure for us 2 summers ago, but I cannot say it did as well last year.
  17. Thanks for the info guys. I have a couple of UV flashlights that we use to glow up everything on the boat, just never looked to see if the flies actually looked different while I was glowing em up. Usually the Golw ones are easy to identify, it's probably more to tell the difference between UV flies and standard (no glow - no UV). I will take a closer look at them tonight with a light.
  18. I have a terrible memory especialy when it comes to flies for some reason. Wondering if there is an easy way to tell the difference between glow and UV. Is there a way on the boat in various light conditions (early morning - mid day) to pick one out vs. the other? Thanks, Shane
  19. I have a 1983 25 foot Pursuit that I bought 3 years ago and so far have loved it. After about 30 e-mails with a pile of pics I drove from Holland to Green Bay to look at it and ended up bringing it home! Made it there and back in one day with a short sea trial. The only thing I did not know much about when I bought it was outdrives. Mine has an OMC Stringer Outdrive (white), which is not known to be the best thing ever designed. I have had to replace a few items on the ouddrive and have one more to work on this year. They do not all have these outdrives and I don't think it would have changed my mind on this boat, but it is something to account for when you evaluate. I am by no means an expert, but did look at a lot of them before I found mine and know a few guys around here with them. If you have any questions let me know.
