Fished solo outside of Saugy from 6:00 ish to 8:30pm.  Boated one mature king in 45 FOW on a J-plug down on a rigger, perhaps 15lbs at best.  Started in 70-80 FOW with lots of marks and two tip ups on that same J-plug with a dull hook.  IT was a fixed harnes otherwise I would have swapped it out for something sharper.  This fish I caught I shortened the lead to 3 passes and that got it done sort of cause ths hook fell out in the net.  The hook will be gone tomorrow.

I have to admit I am not that good fishing near bottom in shallow water.  I wind up with too much of the bottom on my baits.  Yes I do check them often but 20min with a null presentation hurts the effort.  The current was wacky in tight tonight running N/S.

Probably saw us out there.  We had a fun night.  Sheep sheep and more sheep enough of that but had to fish within 3’ of the bottom to get salmon.

Ended up 9/10 if you include sheep 5/5 if not.  Four kings 8-13# and a really nice coho.

No kidding on the current we had to run like 30 degrees off due N-S and adjust the riggers and divers constantly to play chicken with the bottom.

We were constantly messing with the lines trying to play chicken with the bottom.  And when they bumped we had to trip them and reset.  Wasn’t much fun but that’s where the fish were.

Last two hits on the riggers were while I was messing with them.  Thought I had snugged the rods up too much and popped them off the release both times.
