zgrinder on Fin Warrior Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Fished from lines down @ 6:45pm to 10:20pm, six rod spread, 4 downriggers, 2 SD/fly, 2 spoon and 2 mono dipseys with spoons 35-48' down. No long lines on this run. Covered 108-135 FOW closer to Port Sheldon prior to sunset without a bump. Came back south and slid into 80-100 FOW with a glow program, green and blue jeans, green and blue flounder, bloody nose and a glow fly. After the sun disappeared, got one rip on dipsey with a bloody nose. Green flounder pounder on the outdown DR produced a 10lb king. Put it back down and it popped again producing a 12lb or perhaps larger king. This was a natural and was loaded with 4 recently consumed alewives. Put it back down however the bite disappeared. All three bites were on the port side heading south. Fish might have been closer to the shoreline feeding. Two boats reported 8 and 11 fish coolers. Thought we were set up to boat a few more at dusk but it was not to be. IMG_2459.heic 4
SeaFoam Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Glad you got two. I went 0-1 in the morning yesterday. Green flounder pounder has been hot for me all season. I keep seeing reports for bloody nose success. I’ve yet to land a fish with it the last month. LOL. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman 2
littleboat Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Nice looking king! Fishing still has been tough even for the charters. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app 2
