Manistee advice for friend heading there now.

Recommended Posts

All - I have a friend heading up to Manistee (first time there) for 3 days with his son. He will be using leadcore, 2 down riggers and dipsys.

Any basic advice on directionally where to fish (has a 20' Lund.. so limited in distance for motoring too far from port), FOW ... and basic spoon/fly combinations ??

I gave him some basics... based upon fishing with my friend out of Grand Haven.... (although we often motored up to Whitehall water).

Any quick replies would be welcome... as I will text him some info...

thanks in advance for the help.

Early morning bite has been good, and much better than the evening. Straight out and south, 100 to 150 fow. Spoons and f/f's have been good with blues and greens being best. I switch over to mostly meat as the sun comes up and start searching the deeper water.

Ludington has been good also, and it's not a long ride down to the point.

Good luck,

Chris
