  1. Good to see you post again Kuz. The Saginaw Bay walleye were so glad to see you leave, they have been jumping in my boat for joy. Y'all come back now. I'll give you a call one of these days.
  2. ^5s to Adam, Phil and Terry. Nothing like a meal of fresh caught gills.
  3. GJ Jason. Be careful.
  4. Any day on the water is good.
  5. GJ Nick. I never fished smelt like that, but I*'ll bet it's fun. I live about 3/4 mile from the old hot spot for smelt, (The Singing Bridge). You could have a real good time just watching the drunks trying to net the tasty little fish. It was not uncommon to fill 5 gal buckets, garbage cans, etc. The good old days. Some of the guys called it smelt drinking.
  6. Prayers for his family. This happens every year. With warm temps, and a 30 MPH S wind you know that the potential is there. Wind direction is the key. Kudos to the CG. It will cost those guys plenty to get their gear off the ice.
  7. I'm ready for Spring also.
  8. Tim, Welcome to the site. You may want to go to the Welcome and Introduction forum and introduce your self. You will like it here. http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=59
  9. My Dipsy Rods are spooled first with mono backer and topped off with 150 yds of Spiderwire Stealth braid. I seldom see the splice. The only reason for doing this is $$$$. I have never had a problem with this set up.
  10. Most use the 30# braid for Dipsys. You should look on your rods and at least stay close to the line test #s on the rod.
  11. Someone may have seen them. Probably the same crew the DNR tagged for over the limit. They need fine money.
  12. Ron, A very warm welcome to you. Retirement is great, except for the pay. If I would get a check every week, like the one I get the first of every month, things would be dandy. I fish the Saginaw Bay for Walleye. We limit most every trip, even with 4-6 people onboard. I fish mostly out of my 22 ft. Starcraft Islander Hardtop. I run 8 Offshore boards with the flag system and a couple of rods off the back. I mostly run crawler harnesses, with the real deal on them. When the bite is on I'll fish 5 out of 7 days. Check out my pics.
  13. Getting back to Ammo Tax, there is only one way to pay it, and that's in lead every time you squeeze the trigger. There is enough gun control in place right now.
  14. Aaron, It's always nice to look back at old pics. Build a lifetime of good memories and record it.
  15. What a trip. You got your moneys worth already, on that $40 tackle buy. Very nice pictures. Keep the reports coming.
  16. Hey that is a decent LT.
  17. Without getting Political, I think their are a few bright spots in this state. Dow Corning's Semiconductor probably shines the brightest. They make the raw materials for computer chips and Solar Cells. There has been several billion invested there in the last few years. They are the states largest electric user. There will probably be more construction to follow in that area. Eventually some of Semiconductors users and suppliers will locate closer to this place. Expansion of this facility will require a continually expanding electrical source. The thing that hurts this nation and state the most, is the huge trade deficit.
  18. Yes Sir, a lot of big uns early this year.
  19. No Bout a Doubt it, Steelers:)
  20. Adam, Lighten up on those walleye just a touch. You need to save a few for Priority1 when the soft water challenge begins. I love the Bay and it's great fishery. I'll be on them as much as anyone after ice out. My best times on the water, is when I can share it with some kids.
  21. Congrats on the MA Gill.
  22. Don't give these guys any ideas. LMAO
