  7. When fishing steelhead offshore in fall down temperatures aren’t as important as they are the rest of the season. At this time you can find some areas where the surface temp is 1-3 degrees cooler and the steelhead will be in those areas. You can cover a lot of water and suddenly stumble into an area hold fish. The fish out deep are usually feeding on small bait that usually marks in small schools in the top 50. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman

  11. Fished solo out of PS. Set line on 85 FOW and trolled to 140. Caught 4 on out pass, 1 LT, 2 immature kings and a small coho. Caught another small coho just before 9 and headed to the dock. All bites 125-140 FOW, 40-65 down. White ProTrolls with no-see-um and hypnotist flies and a blue dolphin Stingray were best. Ended 5/6. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman

  14. Fish PS last night 7-10 dock to dock. 2 bites, 2 fish for a total of about 5 pounds. Started in 100 FOW. Trolled SW to 150 and back. Both bites came in the 130s; 300 CU mag MS blue hulk (2# coho) and 400 CU NBK Stingray (3# LT). Saw some big schools of bait but few individual fish. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman

  16. Also fished PS Friday evening (6-10). Started in 150 and trolled to 215. Ended 6-11, all but one bite was between 195-210. A blue dolphin Stingray w a glow back went 6 times down 80 and a mag Bad Toad MS went twice on the add a line at 90. Bite was pretty consistent, only had 3 bites during twilight.   17. Fished PS again this morning. Ran to 180 and started on a SW troll. First hour was busy. We landed 2 trout and lost 4 mature salmon. Bites came 70-100 down: white fishscale Protroll w meat, Kevin’s mistress, MS bad toad. Only had two more bites after 7:00, but finally my son’s college friend finally landed an adult salmon.   18. Fished PS again this morning. Ran to 180 and started on a SW troll. First hour was busy. We landed 2 trout and lost 4 mature salmon.   19. There was quite a few boats but everyone was spread out. Several boats ran north beyond us, and we saw boats trolling west that we never saw coming back in. I don’t know how deep they went. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
  20. We also fished PS this morning. Started a little north in 95 FOW and trolled to 230. Lost a fish in 155. Start marking bait in 190 and hit a triple in 210. Ended 3-9, all salmon (4#, 7#, and 28#). Lost several other big fish. White fishscale Protroll w meat in a low diver out 200 went two times, MS 5 eyes on a 400 went twice and Kevin’s Mistress SD on a high diver at 300 went twice.   21. Fished 6:30-11:30 from PS this morning. Ended 5/10, all salmon. Started in 115-135 FOW and caught 2 small salmon and lost 3 in the first hour. Then trolled west and caught 3 more out deeper, 205-230 FOW. Best rigs were a MS 5 Eyes (2 bites) on a 400 CU and Salmon Candy Blue Stud flasher w an Oceana fly (6 bites)on a diver.   22. Son took a couple of friends out for an evening trip. They went 4-7, 1 LT, 2 kings and a coho. They trolled 110-250 and back to 160. All bites came in 160-185 FOW. Multiple bites on Moonshine 5 Eyes and Dancing anchovy on down riggers down 60 and 75. Five bites came between sunset and dark. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
