    Last November channel in PS was ok (granted that could change) but I cut a bit too far north and found the bottom in Pigeon Lake proper. Made sure to hug the island to the south when we came back in.

    I know deep diving stick baits can overpower small divers. I would think the ring can only help…

    Or your crew doesn’t put the line behind the pin. Or the split ring the release is on opens up. Or the screw eyes works out of the board…

    I’ve been having problems with picking up green slime while trolling near the bottom or in shallow. That can bugger up the best of swivels.

    Here’s what the pump couldn’t clear out. I think we had four waves in a row wash the bow lights.

    Got out late, launched as JDH came in and got the crap kicked out of us. Before we tucked tail and limped back into port we were 3/4 with two steel and a laker and lost another steel.

    I ran ten rods out of a 14’ with an eight and seven year old in the crew. Second fish was a 8# brown. That got interesting but the youngest crew landed it.

    Empty stomach. How? The bait was still there not as much but plenty.

    Daughter home from college went out in spitting showers and an interesting wind. Targeted kings but was more than happy to get this.

    I have caught them off most any pier and in the surf, but fishing very small spawn bags. Ripping into them while they are trying to spawn seems counter productive to a fish with troubled populations, not to mention the crowd this draws leans towards chaos. I’d just assume they close the season down in November like we do for spawning walleye and pike in the spring. I have tried to jig them around the Bubbler in Port Sheldon with limited and mostly lake trout success.
