  1. We made it up to the Grand Rapids fishing show yesterday to check out all the hot new products that we didn't need!:shade: It was great to see a few familiar faces and to meet many new faces. We had good talks with Ray from Team Early Bird and Russell from Anglers Avenue along with many others which got us even more pumped for the upcoming tournament season. With the heavy north winds today that kept us from fishing we spent time going through new and old tackle and doing some organizing getting ready for our first tournament of the season. Here are a few pictures of the show and our organizing skills enjoy!
  2. Well finally getting around to posting a report after 5 days of fishing on the weekend and after work last week and fishing today after work and everything else happening it is safe to say spring has arrived! Fishing has been anywhere from on fire to slow but we have caught fish every trip so we will take that as a plus. We have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new products from one of our major sponsors this year SHASTA TACKLE well they arrived today and we where able to get them wet for the first time. The coho sure seemed to love the new products as much as we do, the new stuff out fished the old go to's 3-1 ! We are excited to see how the kings will like the new stuff hopefully we will find out here in a few weeks and if its anything like the cohos we should be in for a great season! We will be at the Grand Rapids show tomorrow and will be handing out SHASTA TACKLE business cards so stop by the tournament trail booth and say hi and pick one up! As usual we have a few pictures to share enjoy to see more pictures and info follow us on FACEBOOK(Team Kick'r) and on INSTAGRAM(team_kickr_fishing_team) for more updates! ]
  3. We started Saturday morning off with a trip to the salmon unlimited of Illinois show/swap meet to find some goodies for the upcoming season. We missed out on a good deal on some rods that we where thinking about purchasing but, we did manage to still find some things that we "needed". haha :shade: We talked to a few people at the show and heard of a few people getting some coho in one of our favorite spring spots so we decided to dig (literally) the boat out of storage for the season after the show. This turned out to be quite the challenge with all the snow piled up in front of the storage unit but with the help of a couple shovels and some salt and we managed to get it out. Then it was time to load it up put the battery in it and head to the lake. We got on the water around 3pm and fished until 5:30 we managed to land 3 coho casting a jig and squid the lake was still iced up around the harbor mouth so no trolling just yet. Well here are the first pictures of the season from TEAM KICK'R a great start to our season enjoy!
  4. Thanks guys can't wait to get her all rigged up!
  5. Took her for a test ride Saturday afternoon didn't have time to do any fishing. Sunday we got a break from the rain and headed to the big lake in search of perch we only ended up with 2 but it felt good to be on the water in the new boat what an improvement and she boogies too!
  6. Sold! I'm looking for a 20' - 27' walkaround boat let me know if you have anything that you think I may be interested in thanks
  7. Well after fishing after work (usually6:30pm-10:30pm) for 5 nights straight and a busy weekend I finally found some time to sit done and write a report. We spent the first half of the week on the boat casting a few areas we went 1-3 Monday 2-5 Tuesday and 0-1 Wednesday. On Thursday we wanted to try something different for a change so we decided to give the creek a try for the first time this season. It ended up paying off on my second cast I hooked into a nice fish and about a hour later my buddy hooked into another one we landed both fish and had a few other misses all in all a great night. With the decent fishing in the creek on Thursday we decided to give it another try on Friday it didn't end up being as good as the night before we had a ton of hits we just weren't able to land any of them but we still had a great time. Here are a few pics enjoy!
  8. We went back out to the same area on Sunday and fished the same times with nothing so we tried a few other spots with nothing to show for it. We will be back out again when the lake calms down after this north blow.
  9. Took the girlfriend out casting for the 2nd time this season and it really paid off we ended up going 3-5 and had a few other possible hits the biggest king was 17.5lbs.She had a blast and is hooked I hope to get her out again tonight. Here are a few pictures enjoy don't mind the bright blue sky!
  10. Well after fishing for 3 days straight after work from 6:30pm until 10:30-11:00pm it was time to stay home today and do some yard work and hopefully get a decent nights rest because I will be taking the girlfriend out tomorrow for her second time ever casting for kings she wasn't able to get any on her first trip on Monday hopefully she gets hooked up tomorrow. Well as far as fishing goes it had been pretty slow we haven't been able to boat more than 1 fish per trip we have had a few hookups per trip but they come unbuttoned. We have been fishing the normal spots out of EC all seem to be about the same.
  11. Well we decided since trolling had slowed up a bit we would give casting a try Wednesday for the first time this season. We ended up with 1 silver female king on the first cast and that was it we started fishing around 7:30pm stopped at 10:30pm fish came on a lucky craft at hole in wall. On Friday we decided we where going to stay out as long as the fish where biting things started off great with 2 hook ups that came unbuttoned in the first 30min of fishing then things shut off for a while we finally landed a dark male clipped fish and missed a few others that was about it we started at 6:30pm and stopped around 12:00am we had planned on staying out longer but the wind was getting brutal and the fishing was slow. We plan on getting out almost every day after work this week hopefully things keep improving!
  12. Yes you read that right we were up in WI for a drag race on Saturday so we decided to pull the boat up there and give Racine WI a try on Sunday morning. We went 0-1 in 17-35 FOW in front of harbor from 6am-11:30am everything we seen and heard sounded like it was just as slow for everybody else. On the way home I got ahold of my buddy and we decided to head out of Portage on our friends boat a 27ftr it had been a while since I've fished on it and man was it nice with the extra 10ft of room compared to my boat! HAHA We fished from around 6:30pm-10:30pm in 15-45FOW with nothing to show for it but one drive by. I think our biggest problem was not being able to slow down enough the slowest we could get the boat to go was 2.8-3.0 SOG and most of the fish we have been taking on my boat have been around 2.0 SOG. No fish equals no pictures hopefully next time we get back into them we plan on getting out the next few evenings so I will post how we do.
