  1. Nice Detailed Report. Great job on putting your guest on fish.
  2. That is very cool, thanks for sharing.
  3. Man, I wish you the best. You have paid your dues just in time for very good fishing. :thumb:to Slim also
  4. I agree, This has been a very friendly forum made up of some first class fishermen. I always say, It is a very big lake with plenty of room and plenty of fish, so there is no need to keep any secrets. I wish you the very best on all your trips with the kids:thumb:
  5. This is the web Cam http://www.limnotechdata.com/stations/PortSheldon
  6. North west blow today will change it up a bit. Keep an eye on the Holland buoy with the temp. string. All of these ports are going to be very good I predict.
  7. Great report Dan, I love Port Sheldon. One of our best options for the trailer fleet.
  8. That's awesome. Hand lined a 19 lb.er. I can only imagine chasing that board. Thanks for sharing.
  9. We need more details for this report. Like what exactly are we going to be looking for as far as rod and reel combo. You can have the tackle back, but the fish will belong to whoever lands it:thumb: This fish is only going to get bigger now that it is towing around an anchor.
  10. That will explain the lack of info:grin: Look for some good reports this week.
  11. welcome to the site Larry. Very helpful fishermen around here. I can't help with Muskegon but just south of there between Holland and Grand Haven has really improved with a good temperature break @ 32' down. 70 deg. on the surface and 55 deg. at 32' The Kings are moving back into a fish- able pattern. Not so scattered like we saw in June. Long lines off boards have been hot. 300' copper has been my most consistent rod this year. Good luck.
  12. Great job Bob:thumb: we also had our best luck running east. Which is hard to do with most boats going N and S. Got to love that 300' copper.
  13. Pics as promised. small lakers could not be revived to put back. They will be excellent little smokers.
  14. He had a blast. He is starting to ask more questions about the gear and enjoys the radio chatter. He has fished with me enough to know the up's and down's and can really appreciate a day like that.
  15. 4 -4 somehow:no: fished between 100' and 140' with 3 fish in 130ish and 1 in 115'. 300' copper took 3 fish with a SS blue dolphin mag. Small laker came on a slider with a DW purple carbon with the rigger down 60' The somehow we got all 4 had to do with only 2 of us and the 300' going back hard . my 13 year old was whooped from a battle with a 10 lb. er so I put him at the wheel and I would take this one. after I got the board to resurface and begin to gain a little the port rigger fires. It was luckily a small laker and came in easy for him. I netted it with one hand and he then has to free the net. No one is at the wheel at this point. the boat is slightly veering to stbd and the 22 lb. king has gotten all the way across and behind the boards on the stbd side. I can't even remember all the evasive moves we were laying down, but we are creating a huge mess! It avoided all the long lines but got into the braid dipsey. I knew I could not hand him the rod so he was ging to have to net. I am cranking him hard to keep him up. He gets the net under but the fish is not in yet. I give a good yank and the line snapped.... with the fish slamming home in the net. We will remember this trip for a long long time. I'll add some pics tomorrow.
  16. Oh no, not knocking em. Just curios if that's what they were. We catch our share drifting walleye in the Grand.
  17. 5:30 to 8:30. put down in 100' worked SW to 150' turned NW had a good rip on Dipsey but came off in 155' and then another swing and a miss on a full core. Ended 1 - 3 with a release on a rigger in 110' throw back king. He was landed and in the boat so this time of year I consider it not a Skunk!!! Still very slow out there. We cruised in and there is a ton of bait and good bottom marks in between 28' - 60'. Might be worth a try or maybe it's Sheep Hearders like Holland.
