  1. i picked up some of the green labels up. been cutting my own strips.

question about running whole on the super mag heads. do they require tuning to get a good turn like strips? same process?

  2. as stated tin cans with spin n glows are great. i also like meat rigs on my dipsys just off the bottom. greens and yellows.

you can run them like jimmy does with a fly behind em or just a spin n glow but be sure to put a bead between the hook and the spin n glow.

the fish hit very lightly sometimes so it takes a little practice to tell between hitting bottom and a fish.

ask around the local bait shops for the areas lakers like in the port you fish.

holland has a good number of them south in 80-100

  3. Well i launched out of holland, but i was in saugy the whole time.

Fished 85 to 115 from saugy piers to south end of sliders.

    3 for 4. 2 kings 1 skam, and lost a skam.

3 hits came on 8 in green dots pro troll with mirage fly green beads. dipsy set 1.5 back 80.

also took a king on 300' 45lb copper with mag moonshine bloody nose.

Not a mark on the finder at all. South troll produced 3 hits north took one.

2.7 to 3.0 sog into the waves with a open bow sure is fun.

  4. Well with the lake being what it is right now i decided to run a laker program and get some candy for the smoker.

The plan was a success as we went 5 for 5 in a little over 4 hours. middle of the sliders from 85 to 115 SW and NE troll. A bit foggy and a few flies but beats works every time!

dipsys back 243 set 1.5 Green glow meat rig

rigger 3 foot off bottom with chrome trash can and green spin n glow

dipsys back 225 set 1.5 green glow trash can white with red dot glow spin n glow.

300' 45lb copper mag shelly snack MS

  5. i ran 6 rod spread all of last year with great success.

id start with a spoon on one rigger, flash fly on the other. same for the dipsys. and all spoons on the longlines. then as the fish bite, or dont bite, adjust the spread accordingly.

adjust the depths up and down every 30 mins or so to try and find fish.

expierimenting is the key, however its always a good idea to keep a couple setups that you know work. blue dolphin on deep copper/rigger and big white paddle/fly deep are good and yellows in the middle of the column always seem to put fish in the box.

    good luck

  6. I use number 1 dipsys with mag rings and have bounced bottom at almost 100' but after 350 back they start pulling on my rods more then i like, and i usually have trouble getting them to release right. also i keep mine on a 1.5 setting.

  7. If its the morning here is my 8 rod spread.

deep rigger - mag double trouble moonshine.

other rigger - big white paddle - poofster fly

    dipsy - flasher/fly

dipsy - standard size blue flounder pounder

long lines - assorted spoons, mix of colors, uv etc.

after sun gets high switch the moonshines for flashers if bite is good, else throw SS blue dolphin and mag blue chilly willy out.

After that its gametime decision. Usually some meat mixed in.

And as always, if one things is hitting, replicate it. I remember a trip last spring where 8 in pro trolls of any color were working, within an hour i had all my lines setup with them and took a limit.
