  1. Nice job Frank! You've been kicking their tails in all summer long. With the cooler summer here I think the fishing will continue to be good for quite a while! Keep on em
  2. Thanks for the report Mike! Thanks for the detailed reports all summer. You have been nothing short of kicking their tales in all summer long! Hope you have good luck on the west side too!
  3. I sure hope so....hoping it's a slaughter in a few weeks......barrel gets loaded up and.....bang bang bang
  4. That's a brute though! Seems size is up, numbers are down. I'll be up for labor day in Onekama.....
  5. I start with the tag end, wrap it around the noodle, and then burry one barb into the noodle. As I'm wrapping the line around the noodle I overlap so the line doesn't come loose. I have used toothpicks in the past to secure the tag end to the noodle
  6. That's the same thing I store crawler harnesses on. It works fantastic. I would assume that fly storage on a noodle would be just as effective.
  7. I can only hope #1 to make it that long, and #2 to be able to get out and do something I love (like fishing)
  8. Atta boy Sniffer! 17/28 is a darn nice number. Said it before, would rather have that kind of action and lose fish than batting very well but lower #s!
  9. It sure looked a lot nicer than this when it first came out of the water....
  10. Fished with a good friend on his boat this past Saturday for a benefit / tourney out of Linwood. Shotgun start @ 7am and we ran out to the hot spot.....not really hot, but we fished east of the shipping channel in about 30fow, where we pulled one nice walleye that weighed 6#12oz on the boat, which was good enough for big fish. On the certified scale and after being in the livewell all day it weighed 6.53#. After we realized that the area we were fishing wasn't producing we moved west. Out near 1&2 we put the spread of 1oz in lines on one side, and 2 oz on the other with harnesses. 1 oz'ers out 45' seemed to be taking good action, 2 ozer's between 25-32' back in 22-25fow was working well on the other side. We sorted through a bunch of fish and filled out our 3 man limit with a lot of throwbacks. Purples seemed to stand out. The wind kicked up about 2PM and at that point the fish really turned on where we were at.... Great day of fishing, we had A LOT OF FUN!
  11. Nice job Frank! If it ain't broke, don't fix it! KISS:thumb:
  12. Annual family vacation in Port Sanilac has come and gone. Didn't spend as much time fishing for perch, but that's how it goes with kids. I was able to get my kids on some fish. My 4yo caught an ice fat 14" perch. My 2yo & 5yo got to tussle with some perch too. They were so excited, hooting and hollering when we were catching fish. I was able to get out a few mornings early solo and spend the time to get on the perch. the perching is a tad behind and will only get better. One small weed bed was giving up the bounty, if you weren't on it (and I mean on top of it) you weren't getting perch. Friday's rougher water and north winds killed the good fishing I experienced the few days prior.
  13. Atta boy Chummer! If you need to get rid of those pesky perch, you have my # .....nice job. I should be back within a couple of weeks up there, going to start looking for the perch
  14. Tony I used to run riggers on the bay all the time, tracking bottom. My spread was about the same as you describe, except, leadcore and spoons or jets and spoons with the riggers hugging the bottom. Nice box of Saginaw Bay Gold!
  15. All this work stuff is getting in the way of this fantastic fishing! Nice job P1
  16. You can say that again..... time for some much needed time off with the people that make it all worth while
