Yes, I'll be in the Fireman's this weekend Indy.
You pulled the trigger on that boat you looked at last weekend?
-
These are some dandy fish, good job. Were you staying in campground?
Yes, we stayed at the city campground. Will be back up on Friday to fish and stay the night, and fish again Saturday. If the weather/waves look good enough we're going to try and take my kids out to fish Father's Day on Sunday for a little while....
Will you be at the campground this weekend?
And, did you hear me Hollering out my window at you Saturday morning?

Fished Au Gres Saturday & Sunday. Got away from the crowd a little bit and found some active fish. Fished 25-45fow. 4 inlines and 2 bouncers over the side. Pinks, purples, perch color and some brite colors in the mix.
Saturday we ended up with 10 healthy walleye, we measured the smallest fish, and it measured 18"

Nice "running" into you at the launch on Saturday. What a great day to be out.
-
Nice job Chummer....I ran right past you on Saturday morning, even hollered out the window to you. Sure was a great weekend to be out walleye fishing!

My BIL had the same issues with his boat/prop. Once he found the correct prop, his boat gets up on plane in a hurry (as it should). With the incorrect prop on his boat it seemed like it was a slow boat to china to get on plane. Like it had to get momentum going, somewhat doggy deliverance of power, to get up on plane. Now you just hit the gas and go

Thanks for the report Mike! See you out there this weekend
-
On fire? That's smokin hot! Nice job

I can verify a $100 transmitter/tag for walleye. Received the money, however I never did receive any information, which I was extremely interested in. But, $100 in the gas tank was nice

Once again had an opportunity to fish out of Au Gres with FishinMachine2, hard to pass it up with the weather forecasted. Rolled out of bed about 4am to start my day.
We started out front of Au Gres where the masses seemed to be fishing. We put 6 in the boat in short order. Inlines and harnesses doing the damage. At about 930am the bite just died, and I mean DIED. We did what we could to try and finish out the limit there, but they just didn't want to go.
So we slid into a bit shallower water and started working for the limit. We missed a few pull backs, and boated 2 more to round out the day with 8 walleye.
We had a bonus brown trout in the mix, and a big ol' kitty cat played too.
Thanks for another fun trip Scott!

Nice job Mike
We were near you in spot #1, and spot # plan D. That bite died after 930 am in spot #1, and I mean it DIED...nice job on the fish!

Au Gres 6/14 & 6/15
in Saginaw Bay Fishing Reports - Walleye
Posted
Took a day off of work on Friday to meet up in Au Gres with my crew. Kept an eye on the wind, and knew it was going to be rough, and it was. NNE winds 15-20 knots in the morning, but we were hell bent on prefishing for the Fireman's tournament.
Made our way to the fishing grounds and put out a spread of bouncers, inlines trailed by crawler harnesses. Didn't even bother turning on the kicker motor, just put the waves at the stern and drifted to the tune of 14 fish. We threw back #15 a couple of different times. Purples, perchs, pinks, and yellows stood out for us. Bouncers down n out over the side out fished inlines by a large margin.
Here's Friday's catch
Entered into the Fireman's Tournament with a shot gun start @ 0700. I think there were about 60 boats entered
We fished the same area that we fished Friday and started to put the boots to em' real quickly. 1st pass we had 6 decent fish in the box. We continued to grind it out. Had 10, and then we moved to some new water in search of the fish that was going to set us apart from the rest of the pack. We did upgrade with a decent fish, and had fantastic marks but we only pulled one. So we moved back to the area we started in and finished out our day, and actually end upgrading 2 more fish toward the end of fishing time. 19.87# for our 5, not monsters, but good enough to collect a check for 7th place. We were so whooped that we cleaned the fish before snapping a pic.
Some really nice eyes, and a lot of them, being taken out of Au Gres right now.
