  1. I don't know if this has been posted before, but if not I thought this was too funny not to show you all. Bet some of you are gonna look for that as an accesory now at your boat dealer.
  2. When I lived in the U.P I was blessed to have been given tickets each year to Lambeau. 49 yard line, home side, 8 rows up. A guy I built a house for was a season ticket holder had been for I don't know how long and never attended....just gave tickets to his customers, he was pleased with the home I built him, knew I was a Packer fan, and made sure I had tickets (2) each year to show his gratitude. When I left the U.P. I remained a loyal Packer fan, and one of the biggest regrets was having to give up those tickets. If any of you can ever expierience the thrill of Lambeau you'll remember it forever, it's not like any other stadium that I have been to and the fans are extremely loyal. My family was obviously watching the game last night, on the edge of our seats at times.....and thrilled that the Packers won. That being said, I was very happy to see the grace and sportsmanship the Steelers coach and players showed in the loss.....my hats off to the Steelers. Their head coach seems like a pretty amazing young man and I bet he'll be around for a long time.
  3. Anybody have a link to this? I tried a search and couldn't find any info.
  4. Mike, thanks a bunch for trying. Sometimes things aren't meant to be....this year it just wasn't meant to be. It is hard to organize things, you did the best you could. Maybe better luck next year.
  5. I've bought around 4 generators in the last 20 years. I use them in my construction business. I had the best luck with a Onan. The one I have now is pure junk....got it on sale at Lowes a few years back. I need to buy another one for this upcoming building year, not sure what I'll buy. I'll be watching this thread for peoples opinions.
  6. Sounds like a terrific learning expierience as well as a lot of fun. Enjoy!
  7. Not nearly what we were expecting. Looks to be about 6-8 inches.
  8. We aren't getting hit (yet) like I thought we would. I have a 800' driveway and use my Deere farm tractor to keep cleaned out....couple of passes and I was good. Snows coming down pretty good here at the moment, so I'm sure I'm not done plowing. I read that the current uprising in Egypt is why the price jumped, I think the oil companies just look for any reason they can to raise the price.
  9. Wish I could make it. Your post caught my attention a while back and I want to go....but given it is Super Bowl weekend, I got too much to do here getting ready. If they don't sell, please send me pics and a price. Thanks
  10. Hey Mike, I dropped you a PM in regards to joining a couple of days ago asking for an address to send it to. Hadn't heard anything back.....maybe my PM er is stuck.
  11. Please do! I'm going to Minnesota Walleye fishing in July....maybe you'll have some (prototypes) by then. Let me know if you do. I'd buy some.
  12. Nice fish, congrats on getting them to bite. Even nicer fishing with someone you share the keyboards with.
  13. Welcome Adam. My wife graduated from Manistique......I lived on the Garden Peninsula (practically right next door !) This is one of the most friendly, helpful sites on the net. I'm sure you'll like it.
  14. Welcome back. I moved from the U.P. to here and gave myself one year to make it work or I was headed back. It worked out here, so I stayed......sometimes I wished it hadn't. I hope it all works out for you, like Nailer said "Michigan needs you"
  15. That option has been tossed around more than twice.......I told the Mrs. the next one was going to have a cuddy cabin. Maybe someday.
  16. Thanks everyone for the good info. Jimmy PM'd me to say he'd be more than willing to give me his old one, but it was missing a bracket and probably wouldn't fit the profile of my boat. So, I'll be taking your sugggestions and buy/build one to fit.
  17. This is what I currently have, and it isn't big enough for a good sized cooler. I guess I hadn't thought about removng this small one and adding a bigger, wider one. Is that what you have Jim?.....and Thanks for the offer. *Edit* I was typing above comment same time as Jim
  18. I don't have a livewell on my boat, there fore I use a cooler which takes up room. I'd like to mount some kind of "rack" on the transom ( I have a I/O ) to allow me to store a good sized cooler on it and free up much needed room. I have looked at Overtons and Boaters World with no luck to find a nice "accessory" to accomplish this task. Anyone do this?...or know where I can find what I'm looking for? As always, Thanks.
  19. Welcome Don! You'll like this site, a lot of friendly advice and nice people. I grew up over in Garden and know your area well. Brother lives in Rapid, niece and nephew each live in Esky. I've fished on both LBdN and BBdN. I'm going up there the weekend of Feb 18th to do some ice fishing on Kates Bay....might "drift" over and try LBdN while I'm there.
  20. Okay I have a question for you guys. My boat has the switch that says "off"..."1"....."Both"...."2". It is the dead of winter and I want to put the battery charger on to get the batteries up. When hooking up the battery charger, should the switch be set to "Both" so they both charge?
  21. I find it ironic you post that since I lived on the Garden Peninsula from 1973-1996 and have lots of friends still in Fairport. .....also, on my last trip to Garden I picked up your business card at the Garden Mini-Mart (my friend Nick owns it) and told a buddy, "hey I know this guy from the fishermans forum!....and if I can ever afford a charter, this is the guy I want to hire"
  22. It's only January and I seem to have it bad already. I go out to the shop, uncover the boat for no reason other than dreaming I guess. Go through my boxes of tackle, etc. when it don't need any more organization. I flip on the outdoors channel and watch hunting/fishing shows and that don't do much except make me wish spring was sooner. Look at the ice shanty and equiptment stored in the shop and think about talking the wife into a long weekend in the U.P. ice fishing......she won't go...too cold. Seems spring is so far away. Anybody else suffering?
