Most action was in 134-138, same area as Mondays trip. Big fish on 7 color with old Hitman spoon (hot spoon on 2 trips this week), Riggers at 75, 65, 55 with chrome/blue spinney and pearl/blue fly and chrome/mt. dew spinney with ? glow green fly. took 2 and lost 3 on braid divers with area 51 spoon and white/crush spinney and no see um fly. One lost on full core/flounder pounder. No rips on coppers. Great flat night on the water with the increasing fly hatch.
  2. Went out in am for 3 1/2 hour fish on cousins family 26' Tiara. Fairly newcomers to big lake fishing. Brought a couple of cores, and 2 coppers. Ended up having no downriggers working, blowing fuse with no spares. Went 5-7 taking fish in 150-170, and 1 in 210. 4 on old Hammertime spoon on 7 color, 1on 300 copper MS Happy meal and coho on full core Jaggerbomb.. 4 5-8 lb. kings, 1 shaker king, and 2 lb. coho. Took cousin and friend back out on the 17 1/2' Lund in afternoon and fished from 120 to 220 SW troll almost to Holland. Nothing. Picked up and ran back to PS and set up in 140. Worked 128-140 with north troll going 7 for 10. 300 copper, 225 copper, 7 color, rigger 120 and 95 down caught fish with MS mags, DW White glow with pink dots, hammertime and met. green froggie spoons took fish. 2 on chrome/blue spinney w/ blue/pearl fly. Picked up speed and things went crazy. SOG was 3.2 with rigger wires 40-45 degrees and humming. Great day battling 0-5" waves.
  3. Rainy day Mondays...Started at 7:45 in pouring rain in 90 fow out to 170 SW troll with nothing... Turned to come back east, 10 lb. king 11" White paddle/pearl ? fly 48" leader 105 down. Took 2 shaker kings released in the 160's on full core Jagerbomb, and 225 copper/Metallic green froggie. Lost 2 more on the way to 140 fow. 1 on Bubblegum Northport nailer/full core, and 1 on 300 copper/flounder pounder. Checked riggers 85 and 105 down, to find 3 lb. coho on same as above paddle/fly, and shaker king on chrome/blue spinny/blue bubble. Ended troll in at 80 fow finding a 2 pound coho on the 225 copper and spun a million times into a half core. Could not find the concentrations of fish like on Saturday. Coho were totally full of ladybugs, moths, and other insects.
  4. Thanks for the report. Will be there tomorrow morning rain or shine...
  5. Thanks again for the report, and now more gear needed to add to the war chest.
  6. Nice work/play... This morning we pulled the 11" paddles and long leads. Last Sunday switched the spoons out to flashers/flies..... It's a fun challenge. Thanks for the always informative reports
  7. Short morning fish started at 7:30-10:15 ( had to be back before noon) AM troll started at 90 fow heading straight west with the waves. Started picking up fish at 135. Had multiple releases on riggers, and caught fish at 135, 148, 155, 163, 170. All spoon bite for son and I on riggers 85 and 100 down. Fixed sliders 30' above. 1 on 225 copper. 1 on 300 copper. troll back in east hit a few more in same ranges. Landed a 9 lb. and 3 lb. king on same rod with slider. Ran almost exclusive green spoons, and a Flounder pounder, all getting fish. Diver/flasher/flies had only one rip. Full core with jagerbomb took two shakers released. Ended 9-14 or so with 7 kings, 3 over 9 lbs.
  8. Thanks for the great "rubbing in" report. Was really wanting to be there this morning.
  9. One partner bailed, fished mostly 3-4 rods with the waves. 150 fow 8:15 start, NOAA wave forecast way off, think waves were around a foot at the launch. Trolled SW to 165 picking up 3 coho and losing 2 all 105, and 110 down. 2 on 11" white paddle/clear,sparkle fly and 1 on chrome/blue spin doctor/ blue bubble fly. One lost off Mag ring braid diver 200 back holo. pro chip/no see um fly. Turned and picked up small coho on 300 copper/met. blue froggie. Trolled back same path going 5 for 6 with coho, and one 12 lb. king on the same 2 riggers, same depths. Lost a ? big fish on Jaggerbomb off full core with 3 oz. divebomb.
  10. Good responses from all. I fish a 18' Lund fairly regularly out in the 200-275 range. 115 4 stroke, with bow and transom trolling motors. 3 batteries. I have had my main battery go down and had to pull trolling battery to get in. I also have 2 marine radio's, flares, flag and look at forecast a day out. I do not go out for evening trips/to dark unless I'm with another boat or see boats, especially in spring/ and fall when water temp's. are lower. Last summer I had a boat follow me out to 250' and have him get towed in when he ran out of oil. I carry 2 quarts extra always. Good luck, and safe boating.
  11. Finally got out for the first time. Started at 11 in 170 fow. trolled out to 220 picking up a coho ( 190 fow. 130 down DR Chrome/Blue spinny and ? blue fly) and a laker (195 fow. 100 down 11" white paddle with no-see um fly) lost 2 others in the same depth ( 1 on the blue rig, and 1 on wire dipsey 200 back, set on 2 with blue dolphin spoon. Trolled 2.4-2.8 sog. Went back and worked the 190-195 range and found a shaker on 300 super copper/ Silver Streak Met. green froggie. Didn't mark much on graph. Good to finally get out.
  12. Great report as usual ! Question for you Jim, are those your JP Slammers turned around (running backwards) or a new variation spoon your making? Thanks, Eric
  13. This weathers killing me, it's time for me to make time and get out !! Thanks for the report.
  14. Yes, still trolling the big water. Light snow 27 degree mid day fish. Started with 1' waves which turned to 2-4's in 2 hrs. Only had 1 good rip on Hot orange/black ladderback Silver Horde. Can't end the 2011 season with a last trip skunk, so that means back out again (If the waves cooperate) this week.
  15. No ventral/pelvic fin clip. It did have a pec. fin clipped. I'll keep this is in mind. They're not head tagged are they?
  16. I'm thinking we may be able to Kevin. Water temps were 39-43. Hoping the water will clear more. It was pretty murky from 15 fow to beach.
