  1. Area 51, and ET was a great producer in June and early July for me. Also the 8" prochips in White/crushed ice and mountain dew.
  2. Was planning on the 180-230 depths this weekend if , but if the unreliable NOAA forecast is only half right it will be a No fish weekend....ughhh....
  3. I'm thinking those sloppy eating small coho's which were at port Sheldon a week and a half ago. Had 5 releases on dipsy's/ riggers that that never hooked up for more than a second or two. Were marking bait and what looked to be fish below and in the mix.
  4. Wave heights ended up totally fishable today. 2 for 2 , taking 2 small lake trout in late morning until 1, fishing white spinny and mountain dew fly on bottom in 80-100' depths near red can. Out again for the evening taking a 15 lb. dark king on 300 copper with Pearl/pink dot Aces High, a just legal laker on mag. Flounder Pounder on 300 copper, and a 7 lb. laker on White spinny and mountain dew fly. All fish came in 100-115' of water.
  5. Blown off in the am... turned in and trolled the lake for about an hour looking for some lake trout action, taking 2 pike, one small, one 37" on downriggers and spoons 40-50 down. Looking like we may have a 3 day wind and waves trip. That's fishing !
  6. Temp's at the pier heads were mid 70's surface, never found surface water colder than 72.5. next season going to invest in a probe.
  7. 5 am to 9... in 2-3' waves, and some strong currents. Fished 80' to 120' marking lots of bait and fish in the 100-105 depth, and around 118'. No fish landed out of 1 rip, and one hooked on 300 copper flounder pounder and glow j plug. 3 releases in 102- 105' 30 down while trolling through huge bait balls. Dipseys and leadcore washed lures.
  8. 8 pm start at 140's marked bait and a few fish...troll into 110, one king 5 lber just as sun goes down on MS bloody nose and 300 copper... radio chatter of a flurry of fish caught in 70' of water 60 down by one or 2 boats... at launch most of the boats had 1-3 fish. Another beautiful night in the WARM water.
  9. NICE results and they sure moved in. Killing me as my boat goes in tomorrow for some ????? power problem.
  10. Trying a different port for a change. All I can say is gill nets, trap nets and more nets, both North and South of channel. Ended going 2 for 2 with 2 kings 8 and 10 lbs. on 300 copper and as usual for me both fish on mag MS flounder pounder. 1 release unseen on spinnie and green fly. All fish in 100-90 foot of water. Bait everywhere but not many fish marked. Possibly in the thousands of feet of nets.
  11. Dropped lines in 120 at 7:30.... One lost fish on 11"" glow paddle and mountain dew fly 75' down...then Nothing until we trolled in to 100-106 depths around 8:30. 300 copper mag. MS flounder pounder goes, 300 mag. MS blue flounder, then same as before paddle and fly goes... 10, 8 and 12lb. kings landed. Another double on the 2 coppers MS spoons 5 and 6 lbers. 1 lost fish that snapped the barrel swivel off the snubber on wire diver 175' back MS mag bloody nose. 2 more lost fish on free sliders I'm guessing as we went through a school of small fish in 90' water at 10:20.... Beautiful flat calm night and thanks to Plumkrazy as I read his morning report on my phone and decided to not fish the 120-135 depths I have been fishing and go to the shallower water.
  12. 2 1/2 hour fish starting at 8. 100-123'. 5 for 9 on 4 to 17 lb. kings. Hooked down riggers 75-95 down, 1 on free slider. Fish caught on JP Slammer Beefeater, Moonshine Mag. bloody nose, and Glow taped DW green dolphin (3). 300' Copper/flounder pounder losing BIG fish, and wire diver 165' back w/ dipsey paddle fly losing one. Got into fish immediately at 112' with a triple. Action slowed to nothing after 9:45 or so.
  13. 7 PM 2-4's not the 1's forecasted but fought the waves to have a great night going 4-7 with a great friend and his 12 year old first time big lake fishing daughter. Started at 65' trolling out to reach the 100-135' range. One tripped wire diver dipsey with white crackle paddle and blue mirage fly. Got to 120' and did a turn to the south. 300' copper with "trusty" mag flounder pounder goes singing. She takes over with some rod holding to land a 34" King and 15" lamprey. Continue Southeast troll to 113' picking up a 25" King on JP Slammer Fuzzy glow frog 120' cable out on rigger. Re rig and have double off riggers one lost and land 34" twin on Area 51 100' cable down, after he goes across and pulls copper into dipsey, and takes out copper for the night.. Head back out to 130' and turn again to SE troll. back to 115' and wire diver setting 3 with mag. flounder pounder takes 35" King. One more deep rigger starts yanking to breaking line on hook set, and another lost Area 51. As we did Friday never trolled above 2 mph surface speed, kept around 1.6-1.8.
  14. Took out new comer couple to big lake fishing. 7 pm start at 85' with first short rip at 105'ish on wire diver/white flasher/blue and white? fly. Trolled out to the 120-135' range and set up north south troll. 300' copper with Mag. Flounder Pounder starts screaming. Long Tag team effort with hubby finishing the fight, netting 35" 22lb. Worked the 140-150 range and picked up 17 lb. and 7-8 lb. King on Area 51, and Green Icicle 100' cable out on riggers. Trolling in has 1 more wire diver 2 tug strike, and a 5-6 lb. laker on Area 51 close to bottom. A great night, and wondering where the 3' waves where?
  15. 5 am start with medium fog, and not the "less than 1' waves" predicted. more like 2-3's with some 4's and 2 or 3 5's... Trolled out from 50' with free slider Green Icicle taking 6 lb. Coho at 93'. Another hit and lost fish on same slider at 126'. No other action until trolling in with heavy fog at 65' with slam on mono dipsey w/ Mixed Veggies.
  16. App. 70 % of my bites on spoons the past 2 months have been on 2 Northport nailer spoons. Bubblegum, and Bruiser. Thinking it's the thin spring brass and different action, have been running usually 6-8 spoons a trip (moonshine, DW's, and Silver Streaks).
  17. Lines in at 7 pm. 65 down NP Bruiser gets big rip and gone while setting other rigger in 120'. Nothing until sundown then 2 small Kings 3-4#'s and 2 others lost. 2 55-60 down and 2 on stackers 35-40 down in 100-115'. Bruiser had 3 hits, DW green icicle 1. Nothing on other rigger, copper or half cores with diff. glows, ODC, Monkey puke, and first time in 7 trips that I didn't get a fish on NP Bubblegum. A little somber fish as the coast guard and sheriff continually passed by and over us with heli', and boats looking for the drowned fisherman of yesterday.
  18. Had a King do the same week ago Friday. Hit 55 down and heavy head shakes, fish actually went ahead and under boat. Finally got it to the surface no more than 8' off transom, and it threw the hooks. Looked to be a solid 12 lb. plus fish.
  19. Searched 120- (mostly 170-190's) surface temps mid to high 50's. 2 fish only, 1 toddler Steelhead on of course DOC and ughh 300' copper, and one 5 lb. King 40 down on stacker with Area 51. Could not locate the bait like last weekend. Surface covered with cottonwood and thousands of ladybugs.
  20. Monday and Wed. out of Holland. Three 6 to 8 lb. kings and a couple of shakers each trip. 108-120 deep with 5 fish at 70 ft down, and one on 300' Copper. All but one fish came on old Northport nailer bubble gum.... Friday eve. 2 1/2 hr. fish went 1 for 3 , with 2 fish lost at boat, and fish caught throwning lure in net. One on the bubblegum again, 1 on NBK, and one on DW Craigs SH. All fish came 60-70 down in 90-103 deep around big bait schools.
  21. Spent 3 hours 4-7 pm quickly covering the 15-30's, around 50's, and the 100-150' range. No fish marked, besides perch near bubbler. One drag ripping ...I'll guess king that stole a brand new Purple w/ glow orange tail long A on inline board in 135' of water w/ 2 oz. snap weight on it's way to Wisconsin.
  22. Sat evening 3 hr. troll 'til dark. One laker in 6-7 ' water on Bomber rainbow off the masted Planer board, no other releases/hits . Fished 50' to 6'. Water temp. has dropped to 46-46.5.
