Thanks guys. I helped a good friend move who is going through a NASTY divorce. He gave me 2 sleds, the aluminum trailor with all his gear for free. He is leaving the state to goto California and said keep them, thanks for the friendship. They were stored inside and mint cond. Got all the paper work and registration stuff. I guess the sun shines on a dogs ass every once in a while.

I have a mint condition Indy trail w/electric start, 5 years old with 600 miles. 488 twin with the long track. What is it worth? Thanks for your help. Chris

I used to be a lure switchin' machine until I started listening to charter guys and keeping my core lures/colors intact. Keep 70% old faithful and 30% slight variations working toward a different color grouping. My core has been the same for the past 4 years,don't see it changing anytime soon.

Got mine at Marine General in duluth MN. (Marinegeneral.com) Okuma's Base 8'6" copper rod is 39.99$, they had free shipping just a while ago. It has big Metal guides which I find is easier to feed out the super copper. I have tried Uglies, TDR's and Diawas, just like those big guides.

I use 20# clear Big Game, wait until spring when a shop has free shipping or a sale, etc..Ande is also a line everyone uses and has stood up to great lakes fishing really well.

Paulywood, ran the 553LS Clarions last season. 53" a crank is awesome for copper!

I love blacks don't get me wrong but Scotty's have been working their way in and I love them, they don't mark the line at all, so far so good.

What does membership get you, (Bronze)

One year I got a 16#6oz steelie out of Algoma on a white dodger and a baby blue/chart yellow beaded fly on a 6 color. Over the years I have gotten a ton on spoons but, as this post shows, some big boys come on fly's.

Kyle, I use a bead between the swivel and then suck it up tight when I use a "standard" wire rods with guides. One thing I do more then most people, I think anyway, is cut back the end of my wire. I do it every 2 or 3 days I will take off 2/3 feet or so. So it has never been an issue. I will say that I personally prefer rollers and the Aftco rollers (Shimano/Diawa) have never let me down, jumped a roller or cut into the side yet but the Jr's rods are very light and have what I think is a perfect action for a wire rod. Great price compared to a roller as well. If you could put a swivel tip like the Shimano on a JR'S rod for the same price I would be in heaven but I think that is too much to ask from Joel!

JR'S tackle rods out of MPLS have tungstun guides, no twilli's if you are interested. Chris

I have 47 series sealines, alittle 30lb backer and 1000' of wire fills the reels right to the top. JR'S tackle wire rods if you don't like rollers and shimano if you do. The sealines have tuna tom power handles and have put up with a ton of abuse in 5 years and are smooth as silk yet.

Walkers don't have rings and they have more colors. I run alot of them mainly because of colors, no ring and price. Fit and finish is LJ strong suit, Walkers deeper divers in Metallic colors fading in the sun is a big dissapointment to say the least.

Look at a Clarion 553LS. 120-130 buck, 53 inches a crank and a nice big handle. I used them last year for my 400,300 and 200 45lb coppers.

When you devalue the dollar, have soccer moms driving suburbans, and have something like gas (oil) priced on FUTURES that are influenced by anyone who wants to be the next Gordon Gekko what do you expect. I would love to see the 472 Caddy that gets 21 mph.

I fish the WI side but that would suck if I were a MI angler. Time for a change I would think.

If anyone is interested about great core/copper reels look into Okumas 553ls high speed Clarion. Great drag and 53" a turn. Used them all last season. 300yds of 50lb power pro/ 300 ft of 45ib copper/40ft leader fits perfect.

I was lucky and got some small(6") ones for 3$ a piece at a bargin bin and they have sat on the bench for me. I fish from a northern WI port and would like to know how or if I could use them in June/july for kings or steel. I have Flo orange with the red insert, yellow with orange insert, green with glow, and white with a blue holo insert. Any help with fly size, leader, or combo's would be great. Chris

Kyle, all leaders are 50lb so you can grab it and hand line in with no worries. 40lb would work well too I suppose. I use just plain Big Game, same stuff on my fly leaders. Probibly the biggest reason my per trip average in june and july was over 15 before that august swoon we had. Give me a shout next year, planning 4-5 trips. As long as you are bringing up leaders-I increased all my leaders last year to 12 feet, even on my 7' taloras down the shoot. Divers have never been so hot. Learned the trick from a bunch of Lake O. guys on another site. They ran some 18'ers and used a leader man to net. If you run with 3-5 guys in the boat try it, me likey.
