  1. Been picking up a lot on J plugs over here also, 110 feet 90 down.one fish even decided that it wanted to keep the plug for its self.
  2. Has any ever seen or knows where I can buy a J Plug that you place a glow stick inside of , My son and I were out last night and lost one to a very large fish that kept the j plug when he broke the line. These work awesome and I am down to one . Just bought 100 light sticks and would like to use them up . Jim
  3. Nice , I really like the second one.
  4. Bill thats one heck of a fish , I know the feeling of having the fish take a lunge and get caught on the side of the net. Here is what has worked for me when that happens, if you have a really deep net this might not work but what you do is roll the net over and come right under the fish. Never grab the line like I did the first time , laid 2 fingers open real nice. needed to use the first aid kit .That I didn't' buy yet.
  5. Will you be out on the weekend? I normally don't fish on Fridays. I should be out sometime this week thinking either Tuesday - thursday
  6. are you fishing out of Green Bay ? kind of curious how the fishing is in the bay. was thinking of taking a trip up to Mariette to do some trolling.
  7. I'm in as long as I'm still fishing this year. surgery is push back a little.(more time on the water) Yea!!!!!!!!!!
  8. West Allis Wisconsin , a suburb of Milwaukee, 15 min from the harbor. Grew up here never fished the lake until last year, should of fished this years ago. Making up for it now!
  9. weight on the brown came in at 8lbs , looks like it should have weighed more . the king next to it came in at 15lbs.
  10. I really have to thank all of you that helped me out this year, I have surpassed my goal of 100 fish this year and I'm not done yet:grin:. My son and I went 4 for 6 this morning , it seemed that the hot lures were a green dolphin and a blue dolphin, one on the glow stick J Plug . We started east of the north gap in 60 feet trolled out to 110 feet . Left 110 when the wind and waves kicked up. Picked up 1 nice brown in 43 feet off the break wall.We had one double on and my son lost his , both reels started screaming at the same time. I think nick was more excited than I was , he screamed double!!!!! Tight lines to you guys this site is awesome. Jim
  11. Late report from Thursday, My son nick and I were out on thursday and was very slow to say the least, at least where we fished. ended up 1 for 2 for the evening. Trolled the current first with nothing to show from 70 ft of water, turned west at the towers and got the only fish of the night in about 65ft. continued to 60ft and turned south and the fog rolled out to greet us,before we knew it u couldn't see more than 75 ft. could no longer see the boards . With the fog we couldn't move very fast so I decided to keep lines in the water, then the screamer hit on a lighted glow J plug. Ripped out a good 170yds before getting free. really would had liked to see this one. The swells got to be pretty rough and the fog made for some creative boat control .trying to keep clear of the other five boats heading in also. Had nick put on his life jacket and pull lines sitting down, only because I couldn't watch him and he is not used to pulling rods in waves like that.Dark foggy and bumpy not the time to take a swim.Just out side of the north gap it clears up and we can see again. Not a skunk but close . Both fish came on lighted glow J Plugs off the same rigger set 45-55 feet down 60 back. Going to run them on sunday morning early. hope for better luck. Tight Lines Jim

  16. I was able to give my new Depth Raider a good run and see if I could find the current. I guess from my findings I have been running on the slow side . Started off in 53 ft marking a few fish but no takers , bait was present also. kept moving north and picked up 1 7lb king. Stayed on a north troll until we hit the towers and turned back southwest. not long after that pick up another king about 5lbs. Then after a short quite time it hit, didn't take any line out but doubled over my 10'6" rod. As I went to net this fish I couldn't beleave what I saw, an extremely large brown. Came on a 5 color J PLUG, weighing 17lbs. congrats to my brother in law Chuck on his biggest fish yet on the big pond. Ended up 3 for 3 and one big smile. Tight Lines Jim "] "]
  17. We have been running J plugs for about a month now ,and having great success , Just trying to get a feel for what every body uses . I had bought 2 of those glow stick J plugs on ebay ,and planing on running them . I haven't seen them in stores . The kings do really seem to like them, My son caught one and the king just about destroyed the hook. Also tonight and my brother in law caught a Large brown on one. Will post pictures later this week came in at 17lbs. Thanks again .
  18. How many of you use J plugs , I have 2 j plugs that you put a glow stick in , have you ever seen these , how did they work for you?
  19. The weather is going to be good for the week , I am going to be out on monday right now but I will let you know if I will be out the rest of the week. I have promised my wife that I would not fish alone out there so if my son backs out I'll be stuck , but that does't happen too often. He usually gives in and gets the bigger fish. By the way do you know any of the guys on the West Allis Fire Department? My Brother in law is the battalion Chief. Hope to see ya this week . Jim
  20. My guess would be similar to a pump handle or running a dive bomb. real nice fish Josh, are you coming for brew city? I will not be fishing in the brew city just hope to meet some of you guys down there , Got company coming and we are smoking chickens , which takes all afternoon. Tight Lines Jim
