  1. Ihave a Hbird 587 combo that pics up the thermo on the switch fire mode.

I payed 450 for the combo unit but have seen the 500 series graph only for $350 or less on sale. So far it has worked better than expected for a cheaper unit.

  2. Yes It was all tuned up and they rebuilt the water pump. I was told I wouldn't be getting it back till the end of next week from the marina after running the lower unit dry last year. I guess thats one advantage to lower HP engines. It turned out that All the gears were still in good shape so I only had to replace the prop shaft seal. When they called yesterday I took off work early to go get it and spent the night getting everything ready. my oldest boy was waking me up at 430 wanting to leave for the ramp. I am going to give it another try mid week with a couple guys from work.

    More reports soon

  3. Well I had my shake down on the detroit river today for about 2.5 hrs. Before seeing a massive i jam around the Bridge waitingf to break loose. We were 0 for 3 with the air temp 13 degrees and the water at 38. All hit were in 20' of water on 3/4oz jigs w/o stingers and 4'' gulp alive smelt. I think Ill be waiting for some warmer weather before getting out again. At least 40 degrees for a high will be nice Lots of ice bergs in the river so be carfull I saw a lot of clear ice that will tack a lower unit out at high speed.

  4. I will be bring my Donzi to advantage in Zeeland end of next week. I just had to take my lund in for a bad propshaft seal. They think I ran it dry last yuear on my last outing in Huron Oh. They will be starting on it this week and a week or so for the parts. SO now I am down 2 boats.

I don't plan on using the Doinzi till the WMFl so I am nort in that big a rush. But the walleye will be here next week or 2 and I fish them 3-4 times a week

    Thanks for the referals

  5. Ok after they wanted $390 to install a second battery on my small boat I decided the directions looked simple enough. I have installed the second battery and wired everything but the motor to the deep cycle. I have the positive leads hooked to each side of the switch and the motor positive ti the main as show in the diagram. My question is

Do I run a neg lead from the second batt. to the starting batt or how else would I ground the second battery?

Now I am by no means an expert but the diagram with the switch shows the starting and 2nd battery connected to gether and run to the engine.

    Thanks Steve

  6. I add

    second battery w isolater switch

    raymarine st1000 tiller auto pilot

pro troll remote throttle for kicker

    2 berts racheting rod holders

    2 okuma cv30d for wire

    2 okuma xp452 for a 200 &300 copper

4 magda20 dx for the walleye

$200 misc tackle at the novi show

And I am heading to BPS today for a couple of jigging reels and a new rod jigs and soft baits. Plus every trip I go on I stop at a local bait and tackle to throw in a few bucks on the local stuff.

  7. I think that guy has out slept me and out fished me every trip out. I showed hunter that pic when I got home. Then I got to hear all about your friend that caught the smallest fish and the biggest. It was his first salmon and now he has been asking when we are going again.

As nice as it is having our own boats We really enjoyed you inviting us along on yours. It was nice to be able to spend a little time with him with out having to man rods and run the boat. We hope to see you at the WMFl events this year.

PS Hunter said the bed in your boat is way better than ours
