youcan look at the ray st1000 or st 2000. You will have to make a bracket but they go up to 36000lbs displacement. I just put 1 on my kicker and the braket was fairly easy to figure out. on my walleye boay. I am in the process of making 1 that will work on my 23 donzi.

This thread is funny because on another site it was said that the earlier Walker Divers has issues with the welded ring on the back breaking apart. Apparently, Walker corrected the problem with a stronger "S" type connection but if you have the earlier models you may want to replace the welded ring with a heavy split type ring.
I had a few of the older Walker Divers and broke the welded ring rather easily. I replaced the weleded ring with a large split ring and have had no issues or worries since.
As for colors, I like the metallic green and blue and always a few glow patterns for deeper fishing.
This is an old product getting better, when the LJ were a good old product that got worse.

The last weekend in august for a weekend would be good for me other than that Iam pretty much open for the rest of the summer.

Last year I had 2 fairly new LJ dipsys (no nuts) stri[ out on the first trip of the year. And I picked up a set of walkers 124 and they have been run every trip and work great. I don't think I will be getting anymore LJ dipsys. I am adding 2 more walkers for wire this year. I really like not having to woory about the ring either.

Huron I fish Sebewaing, Port Austin, Harbor beach and Grindstone. Detroit river, Luna pier (Erie)
Lake michigan Manistee, St Joe
Boats 18 lund ssv ( Bladerunner) and 23 donzi fisherman (project boat) Privateer.
I Started really getting back into salmon 2 years ago after changing to walleye after the Huron collapse. Mainly fish Erie till april for early may for walleye and then Saginaw bay till mid june and then outer bay and S Huron for salmon and walleye. I will be fishing the WMFL out of Holland this year for my salmon fix and Manistee in the fall. Last year was my best season for walleye and a good start to my salmon numbers. I am lucky enough to fish 3 weekends out of the month But will only be going over to L Mi once a month.

Personaly I have had both and would not waste the money on manuals if I was SUREI was going to get electrics next year. That being said I have seen some really good deals on electric DR's used. The electrics I have now are 1992 cannons and they work like a charm.
And between dipsys and copper/core set ups you can easily put 9 rods in the water. A good friend of mine runs 1.5 lbs weights off the back of the boat cause he can't afford DR and they tak fish too.

How many of you change the treble hooks on spoons for singles. I first saw a single in action last may and the hook was actually in the mouth and out the nose on 1 fish and out the top of the head on the other. Last year I didn't lose a fish (but I only boated 28). I am wondering if I should be changing the most used spoons or am I just trying to think useless crap up to do before spring.
Thanks Steve

I have been looking at getting a new older sled and the miles on a sled are not really as much a factor as the yeart. Most low milage sleds have had the speedo disconnected to not register miles.I am not saying you do this but I see it a lot. But in good condition You could get between 1500 and 2000. Put it up for 2000 and see what comes. If no one bites lower it. Most craiglist 1996 sleds in good conditon run from 900- 1800 with way more miles.

My dad has a 4.5KW honda. It won't run the whole house but he runs the well and sump of the 220 with a 110 converter. and 2 power bars( off the gen. 110 plugs that run his entertainment center (tv, vcr, wii, And desk top) and the fridge. It will also run the furnace but not at the same time as the pumps. He also runs a few lamps.

Onan's aand thenHonda Brand (notjust the engine).STay away from Generac. They run ok if you use them all the time but they don'tstore very well. And the wait time on service sucks.
I have aNew honda on my truck only because it was 600 less than the onan I wanted.

about 8". Just enough to ride my sled down I 696 for 5 miles with out skidding. I even passed a state tropper and he just waved and laughed.

I made the 10mile ride towork this morning on my sled. Only skiddedacross 1 main road and the cops didn't even bother me. On the way home the subdivision streets were like trails and It was some of the best riding I have ever had.

In past years early on when the shad are around the fish I do catch have full bellies of shad. I always just atributed it to the Competion of bait fish with lures. When the shad are gone the fish seam to feed more.
Just my thought.
I never thought about walleye eating shad till I accidently cut the stomach open on 1 two yaers ago and out popped 3 3'' shad.
Swivals for copper set-ups
in General Discussion
Posted
I am haveing a hard time finding swivals for the connections on my copper this year. I am changing from nots to swivals because I just plain suck at splicing nots. i.e. to big, pull apart and look shady.
Where can I get the straight sided swivals and what size do I need. I find 80lbs sampo regular swivals with the wire eyelets. I see most of the talk is about this swival that is straight with holes in the barrel instead of wire eyelets.
Thanks Steve
