Well with everything I had going on this summer I only made it to Lake Mi 3 times. And didn't add any new salmon gear.
This summer I will be adding 2 wire set-ups. I see that Okuma and Shimano have two different styles of rollers.
I am looking at 8 or 8'6'' inside divers
Can anyone tell me the difference in them?
And I also see that gander mountain has rods with afco rollers and roller swival tips for $80. does anyone use them?
Thanks Steve

I do both to see what they wan't. sometimes they want that slight hesitaion or just a slight turn of the lure. Use both till you find out what's working.
Where will you be fishing?

Quarter casting is so that you don't spook the fishi in the hole or run you are fishin. I cast up river and then just reel in the slack till the lure is in front of me or just entering the hole. NOw you can reel it in to retrive it or you can let the current dive the lure as itr swings toward shore. The second seems to be my best method but they both work.

I caught a guy that I was a guest on his boat in manistee 2 years ago use the GOTO Nearsest waypoint. option on his H bird when we were heading in at night. About half way in I was playing with the mapping and noticed that the nearest waypoint was inside the pier heads at the ramp. Instead of the WP he set 1/4 mile outside on our way out. Our track line cut right across the the south pier. Having seen that I can see how you can get into problems. That being said I see way to many people overdriving the conditions in low light.

You can probably check and auto parts store that has its own turning service. They should be able to turn a pin for you

U could always put 2 on 1 side. Use i as an out and down and 1 straight off the back. That was how we mounted ours for our OB boat. Weather its in the shoot or 4' left or right probably won't make a difference plus the shoot will be clear to net fish

We had a similar problem with an old motor. Sometime when we would throttle back something would not aline correctly and when we would try to start the motor, we would have to play with the throttle while trying to push the bnutton in. And the when it did push in. We would return the handle to idle while holding the button in. We sold the boat and never did sorrect the issue as they said it would require a new throttle shift lever.
Good luck

When you start out in the morning how far back do you put your low divers. I usually start them out at 125 and 150. (30lbs braid) I am starting tro think that may be a little to deep for in the early morning as they are usually dead till mid morning.
Thanks Steve

Well we made it out after the wind quit sat pm for 3 hours (Sebewaing) And only had 4 throw backs on meat.
So we decided to try out of caseville this morning. We were greeted at the pier heads with 2-3'ers. So we set up in 13' just north of the head and headed for oak point. We ended up 6for 9 all keepers.
Here what worked
2oz BB with green and purple harnesess took 2
on the other side of the boat I ran warrior flutter spoons on mini disc.
perch 30' back, blueberry muffin 35' back and another purple and copper color 25' back
All fish were taken in the 13' break line between the pier heads and Oak Point
speed was 1.8-2.2

Yeah once that wind started to build out of the north I figured it was time to bring the old man and the kid back in. To bad I didn't get the pattern a little sooner. All in all it was a good day.
( turfwrench) What do you use to run your spoons I use mini disc but have had very limited action.

Well I finally got to see the water for the first time sine our house fire in april. We left Sebe. About 6am and were back in by 10 as it started to get rough. We ended up keeping 8 and throwing back 11 12''er's. We started with meat and had to switch to hot n tots and Thundersticks to try to get some keepers. After the switch it was non stop for an hour and all keepers. We started in the slot and then moved over the bar to 14' of water were the keepers were. Every thing inside was 12''.
Both cranks in blue/silver
H-n-T in gold ladder back
And both in fire tiger
H-N-T's had 60' leads
T sticks had 80' leads
